What is the Sendy Audio Egret?

Headfonics and MusicTech describe the diaphragm as less than 800 nm thick. That is a construction description from the brand and reviewers, not evidence by itself that the Egret will sound better than another headphone. Headfonics’ review and MusicTech’s review provide those descriptions.
How does the Egret sound?
Reviewers broadly praise its detail and spacious presentation, but do not describe its tonal balance identically. Headfonics characterizes it as neutral with a mild U-shape and warm tilt; Pragmatic Audio describes a neutral, tonally resolved presentation. Those are reviewers’ listening impressions, not a single established measurement-based verdict. Bass: a key preference trade-off
Pragmatic Audio describes the bass as linear, without an added bass shelf, while Headfonics says some listeners may find the bass lacking. If you want prominent sub-bass or a bass-heavy presentation, audition the Egret first if possible. EQ is an option for personal preference, not a required correction. Is the Egret comfortable, and where can you use it?
The open-back design is intended for listening where sound can pass through the earcups. That makes the Egret a poor choice for quiet shared rooms or situations where you need isolation: people nearby may hear your music, and outside noise is not blocked like it is by closed-back headphones.

Comfort reports are generally positive but qualified by the headphone’s weight. Headfonics praises comfort while noting that the weight can become noticeable during marathon sessions. Egret specifications: published figures conflict
Sendy Audio’s product page confirms the driver size and construction but does not provide a complete parameter table in the page text available here. Two reviews report different impedance and weight figures, and their frequency-response ranges differ as well. Do not treat any one review’s figures as a universally settled specification.

Does the Egret need an amplifier?
Not necessarily. MusicTech says it is easy to drive from real-world studio equipment and works from a dongle; its verdict summary is “Easy to drive — works from a dongle, scales with desktop”. Pragmatic Audio reports acceptable use from a capable portable source and some benefit from quality amplification. These are reviewer experiences, not a guarantee for every phone, dongle, or playback level. A dedicated DAC or amplifier is optional and depends on your source and listening needs.
