To make money in Abyss, catch fish and sell them; take starter quests as you progress for additional rewards. Early on, repeat safer fishing runs within your oxygen limits rather than rushing into deep-water routes. There is no verified universal fastest route or reliable cash-per-hour figure, and this is advice about the game’s currency—not real-world income.
Start with a steady catch-and-sell loop
Finish the tutorial, pick up available early quests, and fish in areas your current equipment lets you handle safely. Sell your catches regularly, and complete quest objectives when they fit naturally into a run. This combines the main income source described in available guides—fish sales—with quest rewards, without relying on a risky trip into deeper water.
Keep runs within your oxygen capacity
Plan around how long your oxygen supply can support a trip. If a route pushes beyond that limit, shorten the run or improve your survival capacity before trying it. A repeatable trip with catches you can bring back is more useful for steady progress than a deeper attempt that adds avoidable risk.
Choose upgrades that make runs repeatable
One early-game guide recommends upgrading the oxygen tube before spending heavily on weapons. The practical reason is that survival capacity supports longer or deeper fishing sessions; expensive weapons may not improve your basic catch-and-sell routine as directly. Prioritize according to the routes you can safely reach and the obstacles you actually encounter.

When to consider deeper routes and mutated fish
After improving your equipment, weigh access to higher-value catches against travel time, oxygen or death risk, and the time needed to return and sell. Mutated fish may sell for more than their base variants, but encountering them is uncertain. Treat mutation hunting as a higher-variance option, not a guaranteed money farm.
Available guides do not provide controlled comparisons of route earnings, travel time, or mutation frequency. A higher sale value per fish alone does not establish that a route earns more overall: consider how many catches you can bring back and whether quest rewards can be collected along the way.

Check current codes without relying on stale lists
A guide suggests redeeming available codes for boosts, but code validity changes and current codes have not been verified here. Check the game itself or official announcements for active codes rather than counting on an old list or building a money-making plan around an unconfirmed boost.
