There is no single reset sequence that works for every Samsung soundbar. Find the model code on the label on the rear of the soundbar, then follow the matching Samsung instructions: a factory reset clears configured settings, and button combinations differ by model and region.
Before you reset: identify your model and the reset’s effect
Check the product label on the back of the soundbar for its model code. Samsung’s model-specific reset guidance covers different series and years, with some instructions varying by software and region. Use the procedure for your exact model rather than combining button steps from different guides.
A factory reset returns the soundbar’s settings to their defaults, so expect configured settings to be cleared. Samsung recommends considering a reset when other troubleshooting steps have not resolved the problem.
Reset a supported HW-Q***D, HW-S***D, or HW-LS60D model

- Turn on the soundbar.
- Press and hold the soundbar’s Volume − and Volume + buttons together for more than five seconds.
- Wait for the reset to finish. Depending on the model family, the display may show “INIT” or the LEDs may indicate completion.
These instructions apply to the model families named in Samsung Singapore’s support guidance; do not assume the same combination applies to another model.
Use the reset procedure for other Samsung models
Samsung says most soundbars released since 2018 reset using the on-device Volume + and Volume − buttons. Many older models instead require buttons on the remote. The exact combination depends on the model: Samsung’s examples include Play/Pause, settings, or Stop buttons on some remotes, as well as button combinations on the soundbar itself.

Open the instructions for your precise model on Samsung Germany’s reset page or check the model’s manual. Its examples span F-series (2013) through C-series (2023), but those examples are not interchangeable. Samsung’s Colombia guidance likewise describes the on-device volume-button pattern for most models released since 2018 while emphasizing model-specific steps: Samsung Colombia’s reset guide.

If the soundbar resets but wireless rear speakers or the subwoofer remain disconnected, check whether the LINK indicator is blinking. The problem may require reconnecting the wireless speakers with ID SET rather than repeating the factory reset. Samsung Canada notes that the ID SET button sequence varies by model, so follow the instructions for your system: connect wireless speakers to a Samsung soundbar.
