The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is a premium, right-handed wireless gaming mouse for people who want lots of controls, flexible scrolling and multiple connection options—not a featherweight built for effortless, rapid flicks. Its 35,000-DPI sensor is a specification, not a reason on its own to upgrade. The key buying question is whether the newer model’s sensor revision and advertised battery improvements justify its price over the earlier Basilisk V3 Pro.
What the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K offers
Razer’s product page lists three ways to connect: HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth and wired USB-C. The right-handed design has 11 programmable buttons, a four-way HyperScroll wheel and five onboard memory profiles. Razer says the wheel can provide tactile, notched scrolling, spin freely, or switch between those behaviors automatically through Smart-Reel, which is configurable in Synapse 4. Razer’s product page describes the modes as a choice between tactile cycling and smooth free-spin, or automatic switching based on scroll speed.
The sensor is Razer’s Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor Gen-2, specified for up to 35,000 DPI, 750 IPS and 70 G acceleration. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. Most buyers should weigh the controls, shape and scroll behavior more heavily than the maximum DPI figure.
How it compares with the earlier Basilisk V3 Pro
RTINGS characterizes the 35K as an updated-sensor version of the earlier Basilisk V3 Pro: the shape is identical, performance is otherwise virtually identical, and the newer revision has improved advertised battery life. That makes it an incremental update rather than a redesign. RTINGS’ review also notes that the earlier model may be the better value if it is available for less.

The 35K’s sensor headroom is unlikely to settle the decision for most people. Compare the actual prices of both versions where you live, then consider whether the revised sensor and longer advertised battery life matter enough to pay extra. No current official retail listing or stock information is established here, so check local listings before deciding.
Weight, dimensions and who it suits
Razer specifies a weight of 112 g, excluding the cable and dongle, and dimensions of 130.0 × 75.4 × 42.5 mm. RTINGS describes the mouse as heavier, while GamesRadar+ frames the Pro 35K around comfort and precision rather than speed and agility. GamesRadar+’s buying guide supports that distinction.

- CONFIGURABLE HYPERSCROLL TILT WHEEL — Choose between tactile cycling and smooth, free-spin scrolling, or auto-switch between them based on the scroll speed in Smart-Reel mode—now configurable on Synapse
- RAZER FOCUS PRO 35K OPTICAL SENSOR GEN-2 — Experience best-in-class tracking performance on a wider variety of surfaces including glass, supported by intelligent functions and 1-DPI step adjustments for more granular aim and control
- UP TO 140 HOUR BATTERY ON RAZER HYPERSPEED WIRELESS — Enjoy smooth, lag-free performance for non-stop play or unlock a true 8000 Hz polling rate with the Razer Mouse Dock Pro or HyperPolling Wireless Dongle (both sold separately)
- 13 CUSTOMIZABLE CONTROLS — Assign an endless combination of commands and macros across 13 easy-access controls, including its acclaimed multi-function trigger to execute essential actions like push-to-talk, ping, and more
- 13-ZONE CHROMA LIGHTING WITH FULL UNDERGLOW — Customize each zone from over 16.8 million colors and countless lighting effects, and experience greater immersion as they react dynamically with over 200 Chroma-integrated games
That makes the Basilisk a more natural fit for someone who wants a substantial right-handed shape, many controls and a versatile wheel than for someone who prioritizes a light mouse for quick, low-effort flicks. If you are comparing alternatives, look beyond sensor numbers: shape and grip, weight, button count, scroll behavior, Bluetooth and multi-device pairing, polling options and price all affect the fit. The cited material does not establish a specific grip type or a multi-device pairing count, so check those details against your intended setup.
Battery life depends on connection and polling rate
Razer advertises different maximum battery figures under different conditions. They are not independent test results, and they should not be collapsed into a single estimate.

- OPTICAL MOUSE SWITCHES GEN 2 — With zero unintended misclicks these switches provide crisp, responsive execution at a blistering 0.2ms actuation speed for up to 70 million clicks
| Connection and polling condition | Razer’s advertised maximum |
|---|---|
| HyperSpeed Wireless, constant 1000 Hz | Up to 140 hours |
| Bluetooth | Up to 210 hours |
| HyperPolling Wireless Dongle and Mouse Dock Pro, constant 8000 Hz | Up to 28 hours |
These are Razer’s published maximums; the cited specifications do not quantify how RGB lighting or individual usage patterns change runtime. The 8000 Hz figure is tied to the separately sold HyperPolling Wireless Dongle and Mouse Dock Pro setup, and its advertised maximum is substantially lower than the other two figures. Check Razer’s product specifications for the stated conditions.
Do you need the Mouse Dock Pro?
No. The Mouse Dock Pro with charging puck is an optional charging convenience, not a requirement: the mouse supports wired USB-C use as well as wireless connections. The dock is relevant if you want the stated 8000 Hz setup, but Razer’s battery maximum for that configuration is up to 28 hours at constant 8000 Hz. Razer lists the dock and puck in a bundle; check the regional listing for the exact bundle contents and availability. Razer’s Dock Pro page describes the accessory and its compatibility.

Verdict: Is the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K worth it?
The Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is worth considering if you want a full-featured, right-handed mouse with 11 programmable buttons, a flexible four-way wheel and HyperSpeed, Bluetooth and wired connectivity. Its size and 112 g specified weight are meaningful trade-offs for buyers who prefer a lighter mouse. The 35K revision is not a wholesale upgrade over the earlier Pro; compare local prices and pay more only if its updated sensor and advertised battery improvements are useful to you.
