The Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 stands out for a feature many wireless earbuds lack: its charging case can take audio from a wired source and send it to the earbuds. That makes it worth considering if you want to use wireless earbuds with an airplane entertainment system or another compatible audio output. Jabra also lists active noise cancellation (ANC), Dolby Atmos with Dolby Head Tracking, Multipoint, and a semi-open fit. The published specifications make a useful case for the feature set, but they do not establish how the earbuds compare in sound, comfort, ANC, calls, or value against rivals.
What is new in the Elite 10 Gen 2?
Jabra announced the second-generation Elite 10 on June 11, 2024. Its headline addition is an LE Audio smart case that can relay audio from a wired source to the earbuds. Jabra also highlights Dolby spatial audio and improved ANC. The announcement date is not a guarantee of retail availability in every market. Jabra’s launch announcement describes the changes.
Jabra calls the case the “world’s first LE Audio smart case”; that is the manufacturer’s claim, rather than an independently established market-history finding. The practical distinction is straightforward: ordinary Bluetooth earbuds receive wireless audio from a phone or other compatible device, while this case can also serve as a bridge from a wired audio output.
How does the smart case work?
Connect the case to a compatible wired audio output with the supplied USB-C/3.5 mm cable. The case then relays the audio wirelessly to the earbuds. Jabra specifically describes use with in-flight entertainment and TVs. This can be useful when a source provides a headphone jack or compatible USB-C audio output but you would rather listen with wireless earbuds.

- Check the source’s output and connector before relying on the setup: the case is not guaranteed to work with every port, adapter, or device.
- The smart-case link uses LE Audio/LC3 according to Jabra’s technical specification; this is distinct from the AAC and SBC codecs Jabra lists for ordinary earbud Bluetooth audio.
Jabra’s product page and technical specification sheet describe the cable and case use. Feature access can depend on current firmware and compatibility with the source.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test measurements. In particular, the combined battery figures include the case and should not be read as earbud-only runtime. Jabra also says ANC is “2x stronger” than on the previous Elite 10 generation; that comparison is a manufacturer claim and does not specify a decibel reduction or establish superiority over other brands. Sound, noise control, calls, and fit: what the specifications tell you
Spatial audio
Jabra specifies Dolby Atmos with Dolby Head Tracking. Head tracking is intended to make spatial audio respond to head movement, but the specification alone cannot show how convincing it sounds with particular content or devices. Dolby Head Tracking and the case’s LE Audio/LC3 connection are separate features; support for one should not be assumed to mean support for the other.
ANC and HearThrough
The earbuds include ANC and Natural HearThrough, Jabra’s transparency feature. Jabra’s “2x stronger” wording compares the ANC with its previous Elite 10 generation; it is not a measured reduction in noise and does not show how the Elite 10 Gen 2 ranks against competing earbuds. For a buying decision, look for comparative ANC and transparency tests made with the same methodology.

Calls
Jabra lists six microphones, but microphone count does not by itself prove call clarity. Noise handling, voice quality, and performance in wind or busy surroundings need listening or controlled testing to assess.
Fit and comfort
Jabra describes the Elite 10 Gen 2 as semi-open and includes four sizes of EarGels. A semi-open design may suit listeners who dislike a deeply sealed sensation, but comfort and stability depend on individual ears. Try the available tips if possible, particularly if a secure fit matters during movement or if you depend on a consistent seal for noise isolation.

Battery, durability, colors, and warranty
Jabra rates combined listening time at up to 27 hours with ANC on and up to 36 hours with ANC off, counting both earbuds and the charging case. These are Jabra’s stated maximums; real runtime depends on use and settings. The technical sheet gives the headset an IP57 rating, not the case. Jabra also lists a two-year warranty against dust and water failure when the product is registered in the Sound+ app; warranty terms can vary by region, so check the terms that apply where you buy.
Jabra lists Soft White, Denim, Cocoa, Titanium Black, and Gloss Black finishes. Color selection and stock can vary by market and retailer.

Firmware and device compatibility
Jabra’s support material and release notes list LE Audio, LC3, and Auracast support through firmware. Availability depends on firmware and on whether the connected source or device supports the relevant feature; it should not be treated as a promise that every phone, transmitter, or Auracast broadcast will work. Check Jabra’s support page and release notes for software information, then confirm compatibility with the specific device and feature you plan to use.
Should you buy the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2?
The case is the clearest reason to choose these over conventional Bluetooth earbuds: it offers a wired-source-to-wireless path for compatible outputs, notably useful for travel entertainment systems. The rest of the feature list—ANC, HearThrough, Multipoint, Dolby Atmos with Head Tracking, and a semi-open fit—may also suit your needs, but Jabra’s specifications cannot settle subjective questions about sound, comfort, call quality, or comparative noise cancellation.
- Consider them if you expect to use a compatible wired audio source and value the case’s relay function, or if Jabra’s listed feature set and fit approach match your priorities.
- Compare alternatives if your priorities are best-in-class ANC, calls, or measured sound performance; compare independent results from the same testing method rather than relying on microphone counts or the “2x” marketing claim.
- Before buying, check the current local price and stock, exact Gen 2 listing, regional warranty terms, firmware, and compatibility with your phone or wired source. Price and availability are not established here.
