To find its point of interest, Braithwaites’ Secret, head to the estate’s southwest waterfront and approach the concealed outhouse south of the workers’ buildings. Listen before inspecting it; checking it too soon may stop the point of interest from being recorded.
Where is Braithwaite Manor?
The plantation is in Scarlett Meadows, in Lemoyne, just south of Rhodes. The estate grounds include the main manor, workers’ buildings, fields and a waterfront. Use Rhodes as your nearby reference point, then look for the large property south of town.

How to find Braithwaites’ Secret
- Go to the southwest side of the estate. Look along the waterfront, south of the nearby workers’ buildings.
- Find the concealed outhouse. The point of interest is associated with this small structure, rather than the main manor.
- Approach and listen before interacting. A person inside may speak. Give the exchange time to play before inspecting the structure.
- Inspect it afterward. This order matters if you want the point of interest recorded in your journal. GameFAQs’ community guidance warns that inspecting too early can prevent the entry: GameFAQs: Where can I find some Points of Interest?
How story progress changes the manor
Before the Chapter 3 mission
Braithwaite Manor is an active story location in Chapter 3. If you want to explore the estate before its story events change it, visit before “Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern.”
After “Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern”
During this Chapter 3 mission, the gang confronts the Braithwaites and searches the house for Jack; the manor burns at the end. After completing the mission, return to explore the ruins. A secondary mission guide lists it as the chapter’s 17th story mission and the game’s 42nd overall: RDR2.org: Chapter 3 Missions and Gold Medals Guide.

Loot reported in the ruins
The Red Dead Wiki reports a gold-bar lockbox in a room east of Catherine Braithwaite’s body, accessible from Chapter 4 onward. Treat the chapter timing and placement as guide-reported rather than officially confirmed, and check the room in your own save: Red Dead Wiki: Braithwaite Manor.
