Does a spouse’s death let you remarry in vanilla Skyrim?
There is no reliably established, guaranteed vanilla route to another wedding after a spouse dies. Community answers disagree: one says remarriage is possible, while a more detailed answer describes resetting marriage-related state with PC console commands rather than using an ordinary in-game dialogue option. The community Q&A does not settle the issue with primary game documentation.
As a result, don’t assume that putting on an Amulet of Mara will make a new marriage available. The usual marriage process involves Maramal at the Temple of Mara in Riften and the Amulet of Mara, but those steps describe ordinary marriage—not a guaranteed reset after a spouse dies. Before installing either mod, check its current version, platform, dependencies and load-order guidance. Bethesda’s December 5, 2023 Special Edition Creations Update notes explain that players can browse and download community-made content through the in-game Creations menu. That general interface does not establish that either marriage mod is available there or works on every platform.
