Choose Blue Prince first if you want one connected, single-player mystery built around exploring a shifting manor. Choose UFO 50 first if you want a library of 50 complete games across different genres, with local multiplayer available in some formats. The better starting point depends on whether you want to follow one puzzle or sample many kinds of games.
What kind of experience does each game offer?
UFO 50 is a collection to browse
UFO 50 brings together 50 complete games from a fictional, obscure 1980s studio. Its genres include platformers, shoot-’em-ups, puzzle games, roguelites, and RPGs. The entire library is available from the start, so you can move between games and discover which ones suit you rather than following one central campaign.

That breadth is the point: it offers many distinct ideas and styles in one collection. The games are described as full experiences, not microgames, so the count alone does not tell you how long any particular game will hold your attention.
Blue Prince is one mystery to work through
Blue Prince is a single-player, first-person puzzle adventure set in Mount Holly, a manor whose layout changes. You choose which room appears behind each door, plan a route, and use tools and clues as you search for the rumored Room 46. The floor plan resets each day, while certain permanent upgrades carry forward.

That structure makes room choices part of the puzzle: you are exploring the house while deciding how to shape the next stretch of it. Blue Prince architect Tonda Ros described the design as “elements of mystery, strategy and discovery, merging the world of a first-person puzzle adventure with the drafting mechanics of a tabletop card game” in a PlayStation Blog interview.
Which game fits what you want?
| If you want… | Start with… | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One sustained mystery with connected clues | Blue Prince | Its room choices, shifting manor, and search for Room 46 organize the experience around one mystery. (Nintendo) |
| Many mechanics and genres in one collection | UFO 50 | It includes 50 complete games spanning several genres. (Steam) |
| A single-player game | Blue Prince | Xbox lists it as single-player. (Xbox) |
| Local multiplayer as an option | UFO 50 | Steam lists shared or split-screen multiplayer features, and Nintendo lists one to three local players for the Switch digital edition. (Steam; Nintendo) |
| Easy sampling without choosing a single campaign | UFO 50 | The whole library is open from the start. Blue Prince may demand more self-directed clue tracking; one review notes that it offers little hand-holding. (Steam; TechRadar) |
| Taking notes and adapting to randomized runs | Blue Prince, if that sounds appealing | A TechRadar reviewer identifies note-taking and randomized rooms and items as both central to the game’s appeal and a possible source of friction. That is one reviewer’s assessment, not a universal verdict. (TechRadar) |
How much guidance should you expect?
Neither game is documented as a strongly guided experience. UFO 50 makes it easy to sample: its full collection is available immediately, but that breadth leaves you to decide what to try. In Blue Prince, room and item randomness shape the route, and TechRadar’s reviewer says players receive little hand-holding and may need to keep track of clues themselves. Pick Blue Prince if that kind of open-ended investigation sounds rewarding; favor UFO 50 if you would rather switch to a different game when one idea is not clicking.

Are physical editions available?
Fangamer lists standard and deluxe physical editions of UFO 50 for Nintendo Switch. The deluxe edition listing describes a companion guide of more than 100 pages, two prints, sticker sheets, and other items; it was shown as out of stock when checked. Nintendo’s Switch listing is for a digital edition. Check the Fangamer listing for current stock rather than assuming the deluxe set is available.
