Because that date falls after October 4, 2026, it should be treated as a listed future date, not proof that the global service is already available. PC and mobile are part of its announced positioning
NCSOFT’s pre-launch announcement says AION 2 would support PC and mobile cross-platform play. The official global page and Steam listing establish PC distribution, but platform access and availability can vary by region. See NCSOFT’s regional launch announcement for the cross-platform announcement.
World scale and engine are official claims, not independent tests
NCSOFT describes AION 2 as an Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG focused on a large PvE world and customization. Steam describes the world as “36 times larger than the original AION”; that figure is storefront promotional wording, not an independently verified measurement. The reviewed sources do not establish how the game performs on particular hardware.

What “Lineage II” means for this choice
Lineage II is not a single progression proposition. NCSOFT presents separate service variants, and the version matters when judging solo play or leveling pace.
Lineage II Aden: consider it for solo options
NCSOFT’s Aden page highlights solo-play options and streamlined progression. That makes Aden the more relevant Lineage II choice if you want some room to play alone rather than treating clan-centered content as the whole experience. The description does not establish that all content is soloable.

Lineage II Classic: consider it for a harder grind
Classic’s official positioning leans into nostalgic, hardcore leveling. Choose it if that slower, more demanding progression is a draw rather than an obstacle. Its description should not be generalized to Aden or every Lineage II service.
Group conflict is central to the official overview
NCSOFT Europe highlights clan battles, castle sieges, and raids in its Lineage II overview. If organized group conflict is the main reason you play MMORPGs, that official emphasis makes Lineage II a natural candidate. The overview is promotional and does not establish how active those activities are on a particular regional server today.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose AION 2 if its newer release, announced PC/mobile cross-platform approach, or Unreal Engine 5 positioning is what you want—and first verify that the service is live and available in your region.
- Choose Lineage II Aden if you want the Lineage II setting and group activities but value its specifically advertised solo options and streamlined progression.
- Choose Lineage II Classic if a nostalgic, hardcore leveling grind is an important part of the appeal.
- Lean toward Lineage II generally if clan conflict, sieges, and raids are your priority, while recognizing that service variant and regional server conditions matter.
What the available information does not settle
The official descriptions are not enough to make a reliable comparison of subscription costs, cash-shop terms, population, performance, balance, or community health. Lineage II’s official site advertises free play, but that alone does not explain current costs or shop terms for each service and region. If any of those factors will decide your choice, check the current regional service pages and platform listings before committing.
