Its latest dated Transparency Data Feed snapshot reports 128.3 million MAU as of September 30, 2026. Both figures are company-reported, not independently audited.
When did Brave reach 100 million monthly active users?
Brave announced the milestone on October 1, 2025, reporting 101 million browser MAU as of September 30, 2025. The announcement counted activity across desktop and mobile. Brave’s Transparency Data Feed later reported 128.3 million MAU as of September 30, 2026, so 100 million describes the 2025 milestone—not the latest dated count available here.

MAU is a monthly activity measure; it is not a count of installs or a lifetime tally of everyone who has tried the browser. Brave has not provided an independent audit of the user-count methodology in the cited announcement or feed.
How many people use Brave daily?
Brave reported more than 42 million daily active users (DAU) in September 2025 and a DAU-to-MAU ratio of 0.42. In its later dated feed snapshot, it reported 54.6 million DAU as of September 30, 2026. DAU counts users active in a day, while MAU counts users active over a month; the two figures describe different time windows.
What else did Brave report about its growth?
In the October 2025 announcement, Brave said it had added an average of about 2.5 million net new browser users per month over the preceding two years. The company attributed growth to rising awareness of privacy concerns and users switching when offered a browser choice. As one example, it said daily Brave iOS installs in the EU rose 50% with the new browser choice panel after the Digital Markets Act was implemented and iOS 17.4 was released in 2024. These are Brave’s explanations and reported example, not an independently tested causal estimate.
Brave CEO and co-founder Brendan Eich characterized the milestone as a movement toward a web that puts users first. That is his view of the company’s growth, rather than a separate measurement of why people chose the browser.
Are Brave Search queries included in the browser user count?
No. Browser users and search queries are separate measures. Brave said Brave Search handled more than 1.6 billion queries a month in October 2025—nearly 20 billion annualized—and more than 50 million user queries per day. It also reported over 15 million AI-generated search answers daily and said roughly 8% of daily search queries came from browsers other than Brave. Those figures concern search activity, not the number of Brave Browser users.

The growth figure does not by itself establish how the browser performs or how its protections compare with competitors. Brave describes its browser as Chromium-based on Android and desktop, and WebKit-based on iOS. The company says its built-in Shields feature blocks ads, trackers, cross-site cookies, and fingerprinting by default, without requiring extensions or other apps. Those are Brave’s product descriptions, not independent privacy or speed test results.
