Choose a microSDXC card from one of the two families DJI lists for the Osmo Action 6: Lexar Professional SILVER PLUS or Kingston CANVAS Go! Plus. DJI’s listed cards carry U3, A2 and V30 markings, and the camera supports cards up to 1 TB. Choose a capacity based on how much footage you want to keep on the camera between transfers.
Which microSD cards does the Osmo Action 6 support?
DJI names two recommended microSDXC card families for the Osmo Action 6. Its specifications and storage-card list identify the following models and markings:
- Lexar Professional SILVER PLUS microSDXC, U3 A2 V30
- Kingston CANVAS Go! Plus microSDXC, U3 A2 V30
These are DJI’s listed recommendations; the sources do not establish that every unlisted card is guaranteed to work, or specify a separate minimum write speed. See DJI’s recommended storage card list and Osmo Action 6 specifications for the official information.
How much capacity should you buy?
DJI lists capacities from 64 GB through 1 TB for both recommended card families. The camera’s stated microSD capacity limit is 1 TB. DJI does not identify one capacity as best for every user or provide an official recording-time table by card size.

For a practical choice, consider how long you usually go between transfers and how much footage you want to retain on the camera. A larger card means more room before you need to offload files; it does not, by itself, make the camera record higher-quality video. DJI’s specifications list a maximum video bitrate of 120 Mbps, but do not map that figure to guaranteed recording time at a particular capacity.
Does the camera have built-in storage?
Yes. DJI lists 64 GB of built-in storage, of which 50 GB is available for use. A microSD card adds expandable storage; it is not the camera’s only storage option.

Do you need a card reader to transfer footage?
No. DJI lists three export routes: the DJI Mimo app, a card reader, or a USB-C connection to a computer or smartphone. A reader is an optional way to transfer files, not a requirement for recording. Choose a transfer method that fits the devices you already use; DJI does not specify a particular reader.
The camera records MP4 (HEVC) video and supports exFAT, according to DJI’s specifications. For transfer instructions and supported methods, consult the Osmo Action 6 FAQ.
