Quest 3 is an all-in-one wireless headset, and Meta lists Touch Plus controllers as included. That is enough to begin using it as a standalone headset. Meta also lists support for Quest Link, which connects the headset to a PC by cable or Air Link; the wired option does not make a cable mandatory.
Charge and set up the headset using its current on-screen flow, then define a safe play area before playing. The exact retail box contents beyond the controllers were not confirmed here, so check the product listing for your region if you need a complete inventory. Which storage size should you choose?
Storage affects how much content you can keep installed, not the headset’s performance tier. Android Central reports that the 128GB and 512GB Quest 3 configurations shared core hardware apart from storage. If you maintain a small rotating library and are comfortable uninstalling and reinstalling apps, a lower-capacity model may work if it is sold in your market. A larger library or locally stored media makes the 512GB model a more practical choice.

Android Central observed roughly 20GB of system files on its 128GB device and a maximum of 481GB shown on its 512GB device. Those are publication-specific observations, not guaranteed usable-capacity figures for every headset or software version. What does Quest 3 offer as a headset?
Meta’s current device comparison lists a resolution of 2064 × 2208 pixels per eye, 8GB of onboard memory, a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, Wi-Fi 6E, and a field of view of 110° horizontal and 96° vertical. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance measurements. Meta estimates battery life at about two hours; actual use can vary.
Which accessories are worth considering?
There is no universal must-buy list. Match an accessory to a problem you actually expect to have, and confirm Quest 3 compatibility on the specific product listing before ordering.

Do not assume they will. Accessory coverage reports that many Quest 2 accessories do not carry over, although Link cables may. Check the compatibility statement for each exact item, especially for face interfaces, lens inserts, and straps; compatibility with Quest 3S does not by itself establish fit with Quest 3.
