That puts it below the Realme 16T’s 22:43 hours but above the Samsung Galaxy A18 4G’s 13:10 hours in the same test. Xiaomi lists a 7,700mAh battery and advertises up to 2.62 days of use; that duration is a manufacturer estimate, not a guarantee of how long your phone will last.
How long does the Redmi Note 17 4G battery last?
There are two useful figures, but they describe different things. Xiaomi’s global product page lists a 7,700mAh silicon-carbon battery and claims up to 2.62 days of usage and up to 26 hours of video playback. For a controlled comparison, GSMArena’s Battery life test v2.0 gives the Redmi Note 17 4G an 18:55-hour active-use score. Its component results are 45:38 hours of calls, 18:09 hours of web use, 22:30 hours of video, and 10:45 hours of gaming. How does it compare with other budget phones?
The following figures come from the same GSMArena Battery life test v2.0 table, making them more useful for comparison than results from separate reviews with different procedures.

In this test, the Redmi sits between the Realme and Samsung. The table does not establish which phone is the best buy in a particular country: local price and availability, network variant, battery capacity, screen size, and charging speed also matter, and the cited results do not provide a complete local-market comparison.
What the score means for different kinds of use
The Redmi’s subtest results show why an overall active-use score may not match your own experience. The 45:38-hour call result is much longer than its 10:45-hour gaming result, while web use and video fall between them. If you spend most of your time gaming, the gaming subtest is more relevant than the headline score; for browsing or video, compare those respective results. The figures still reflect the test’s conditions, not a guaranteed runtime for your apps, settings, or network.

Actual endurance varies with factors such as screen brightness, connectivity, signal strength, apps, and use pattern. The cited sources do not quantify how much each factor changes an individual owner’s runtime.
Make sure you are comparing the 4G model
The global Redmi Note 17 4G is an LTE phone with GSM/HSPA/LTE network technology and a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset. GSMArena’s model specifications distinguish it from phones with similar Redmi Note 17 names. Before buying, check the seller’s exact regional SKU, supported LTE bands, and memory configuration; names alone are not enough to confirm that a listing is the same device.

A separate Indian Express review describes a Redmi Note 17 with an 8,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, reporting two days of casual use and 19 hours 26 minutes in PCMark. Those specifications do not match the global 4G model’s 7,700mAh battery and Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2, so that review’s endurance figures should not be treated as a test of this exact phone. Xiaomi lists 45W charging for the global model. Charging wattage describes supported charging power; it does not by itself establish how long a full charge takes. The sources cited here do not provide a directly comparable charging-time result for these phones. Check the specifications and included accessories for the exact regional version before choosing a charger.
