For a Manchester United match at Old Trafford, buy tickets through the club’s official ticketing site, plan your route using the club’s Getting Here guidance and live travel updates, and take no bag larger than 20 × 15 × 5 cm (8 × 6 × 2 in). Everyone entering the stadium is subject to screening, so arrive in good time and use the entrance printed on your ticket.
How do I get tickets for Manchester United?
Buy match tickets through Manchester United’s official ticketing site. The club’s ticketing FAQ warns: “Please don’t buy match tickets from anywhere other than tickets.manutd.com.” Avoid third-party sellers; the club specifically directs buyers to its own channel.
Do not treat a season-ticket figure as the price of a single match. In its 2026/27 season-ticket update, Manchester United said its lowest adult general-admission season ticket at Old Trafford would cost £646, equivalent to £34 per match across 19 Premier League home matches. The club said match-by-match details would be confirmed after the 2026/27 fixtures were published, so those season-ticket figures do not establish individual match prices.
How do I get to Old Trafford on a matchday?
Start with the club’s Getting Here guide, which provides maps and route information for car, train, tram and bus. Then check live journey information for the date and time of your fixture: matchday services, disruptions and travel times can change. Allow extra time around kick-off, and check Transport for Greater Manchester and rail updates before leaving.

Metrolink
Manchester United’s access statement describes frequent Metrolink services from the city centre, including Victoria and Piccadilly, to Old Trafford Metrolink station. The club identifies the station as accessible for wheelchair users and people with mobility issues; it estimates the walk from the stop to the stadium at approximately 10–15 minutes. Check current services and your route to the stadium entrance for your match.
Driving, cycling and motorbikes
If you plan to drive, check current parking availability and arrangements rather than assuming a space will be available. The club says cycle racks are available at N2, E2 and W2 car parks, free of charge; bring your own secure lock. Motorbike users should purchase a standard car park space, with spaces listed at N3 and N4, subject to availability. Confirm current details in the club’s Getting Here information before relying on them.

What size bag can I take into Old Trafford?
The club’s maximum permitted bag size is 20 × 15 × 5 cm (8 × 6 × 2 in). A carrier bag brought from home must be clear and fit within those dimensions. Pack only essentials, and check the club’s current security and prohibited-items guidance before travelling. Small fold-up umbrellas are allowed; regular umbrellas, large bags, glass bottles, cans, alcohol, laptops and tablets are among the prohibited items. The club lists exceptions for essential medical or baby-changing items.
Oversized bags must be left at a bag drop. The club’s security page lists facilities at E2, N2, W2 Cosgrove car park and the Manchester United Foundation car park off Railway Road. It states a £5 charge, opening four hours before kick-off and closing two and a half hours after the final whistle, and recommends arriving two hours before kick-off if using the service. Because fees and operating arrangements can change, confirm the current policy before matchday.

What should I expect at the stadium entrance?
Everyone entering Old Trafford is subject to a physical search or screening. Have your ticket ready and go to the entrance shown on it; follow staff directions. Arriving with a compliant, small bag—or without one—can avoid the need to use a bag drop.
Can I take a child to a Manchester United match?
Yes, but the club sets booking and supervision conditions. An under-16 match ticket cannot be booked without an adult included in the booking, and a child under 14 must be accompanied by someone aged 16 or older. The club material cited here does not state a maximum adult-to-child ratio, so check with the club if you need to confirm arrangements for your group.

For 2026/27 and beyond, Manchester United names Champions Travel and Travel Connection as official match-break partners. The club describes their packages as combining official match tickets with accommodation and travel options. If comparing packages, check which match ticket is included, where the accommodation is, what transport is covered, the cancellation or change terms, and the total cost; the club’s partner information does not establish prices or detailed package terms.
