What was the Volkswagen Group Award 2025?
Volkswagen Group presented the award at its 21st annual Volkswagen Group Award ceremony in Wolfsburg, Germany. The program recognized supplier performance and long-term collaboration across the group’s supplier network. Volkswagen said the 2025 program covered 10 strategic award categories and followed a Supplier Management Conference attended by around 120 key suppliers. Those figures describe the 2025 event, not an annual attendance or category count guaranteed for future years. Volkswagen Group’s July 2, 2025 announcement lists TI as the Operational Excellence category winner.
Hauke Stars, Volkswagen AG Board of Management member responsible for IT, and Bernd Zielke, Head of Group Procurement Central Functions, presented the award. TI said its Europe President Stefan Bruder received it on the company’s behalf, according to TI’s July 14, 2025 announcement.
Why did Volkswagen honor Texas Instruments?
Volkswagen’s stated rationale was TI’s resilient semiconductor supply strategies and forward-looking investments in production capacity. In the release, the recognition sits within the automaker’s broader focus on dependable supplier relationships as it develops next-generation vehicles.

Volkswagen’s 2025 announcement said it had more than 30 models planned for that year across regions, brands and platforms, underscoring the importance it placed on dependable semiconductor supply. This was a plan reported at the time, not a current model count or confirmation that all those vehicles launched.
What does TI supply to Volkswagen?
TI says it supplies Volkswagen Group with analog and embedded processing products for next-generation automotive systems. The categories named in its announcement are:

TI describes semiconductors as supporting vehicle functions ranging from engine control to advanced safety and infotainment. It also says its automotive-qualified products help automakers create safer systems and meet current and future design requirements; these are TI’s descriptions, not independent technical verification.
The announcements do not identify exact part numbers, vehicle programs, supply volumes, contract terms or specific TI production sites. They therefore do not establish that a particular TI component is fitted to a particular Volkswagen model, nor do they provide a consumer purchasing or repair recommendation.

How TI described the recognition
TI Europe President Stefan Bruder said: “TI’s technological strength and broad automotive portfolio, paired with our dependable, long-term supply is helping drive the next generation of vehicle innovation,” said Stefan Bruder, president of Texas Instruments Europe.
This is TI’s characterization of its contribution and supply relationship. The award announcement establishes the recognition and the categories TI says it supplies, but it does not provide evidence about ongoing supply status beyond what the companies stated in their releases.
