For an Amazon.com Prime Day order, start in Your Orders and use the support options shown for that specific order. The next step depends on whether it is late, canceled, or damaged—and whether Amazon or a third-party seller shipped it. Prime Day does not change the usual order-support process or guarantee a particular remedy.
If your order is delayed
- Open Your Orders, select the order, and check its estimated delivery date and tracking updates. Also check Amazon email notifications and any messages from the carrier.
- Allow 48 hours after the estimated delivery date before escalating. Amazon says most delayed deliveries arrive within that period, but it is guidance, not a guarantee. Its Late Deliveries page says, “After 48 hours have passed, Customer Service will be able to help you.”
- If there is still no update, follow the contact route for the shipment. Amazon directs customers to Customer Service for orders shipped by Amazon and to contact the seller when a third-party seller shipped and sold the order.
For a late delivery with a guaranteed delivery date, Amazon’s help page describes a shipping-fee refund route: Problem with an order → Shipping or delivery issues → Shipment is late. This applies only when the order had a guaranteed delivery date and a shipping fee to refund; not every Prime order meets those conditions.

If Amazon canceled your order
- Open the order details in Your Orders and check the cancellation reason and payment or refund status.
- If the reason or refund status is unclear, contact Customer Service through the order. Amazon’s Customer Service page includes help with order and refund status.
- If you still want the item, check its current listing and ask Customer Service whether an order-specific option is available. Amazon’s published guidance does not promise that a canceled Prime Day price will be honored if you place a new order.
For an undeliverable package, Amazon says it returns the package and processes a refund. In that specific situation, Amazon says to expect the refund within seven business days after it receives the returned package. This timeframe is for undeliverable packages, not every canceled order.
If the item arrived damaged
- In Your Orders, select Return or replace items beside the affected item.
- Choose the applicable reason and follow the order-specific prompts. Check whether a replacement is in stock. Amazon says a replacement uses the original order’s shipping speed, but it may not ship until the original item is returned; the displayed delivery date can vary with stock.
- If Amazon does not offer a replacement, its guidance is to return the item and place a new order. The new order’s price and availability may differ from the Prime Day purchase.
- If Amazon asks for photos, take clear pictures that show the damage. Keep the item and packaging until you understand the instructions for your order.
Amazon’s return policy says most eligible items may be returned for a refund or replacement or exchange within 30 days of delivery, generally in original or unused condition. Eligibility varies by item. For a damaged purchase, use the route and eligibility shown in that order rather than assuming every item qualifies for the same option.

How refunds work
The amount and method of a refund can depend on the item’s condition, how long you have held it, and other purchase details. Amazon’s Refunds page says that after a return is received and processed, a refund can take up to 30 days, depending on the order type, return-shipping speed, processing, and payment method. That is the page’s stated maximum, not a prediction that each refund takes that long.
When a third-party seller is involved
Check the seller and shipper shown in your order details before choosing whom to contact. If a third-party seller shipped and sold the order, Amazon’s late-delivery guidance directs you to contact the seller about a delay. For a qualifying third-party-seller purchase, Amazon’s A-to-z Guarantee lists an item that is damaged, defective, or materially different from its description as a potentially covered issue. Eligibility requirements and request or return conditions apply, and the guarantee does not cover every Amazon.com transaction; check the order and the guarantee criteria before relying on it.

If you used Buy with Prime on another website
A Buy with Prime purchase made on a participating merchant’s website is not the same as an Amazon.com order, even if it appears in your Amazon account. Amazon says these purchases appear under a separate Buy with Prime Orders tab. Open the relevant order details there to track it, get support, or start a return, and follow the merchant- and order-specific instructions. See Amazon’s Buy with Prime order help.
