Nothing recommends charging with a standard charger and Type-C cable, but the official guidance reviewed does not establish whether the battery can be replaced or repaired.
How long does the Nothing Headphone (1) battery last?
Runtime depends on the audio codec and whether active noise cancellation (ANC) is on. Nothing lists these playback and talk-time figures:

These are figures published by Nothing Support, not independent measurements. Nothing says its playback figures were measured in AAC mode at 50% volume and its charging and battery tests were based on internal lab results at 25°C/77°F. Although the support page also lists LDAC figures, its test-condition wording specifies AAC; it does not separately explain LDAC test conditions.
Actual battery life can vary with volume, audio frequency, output source, environmental interference, active features, and usage habits. Nothing’s product page advertises up to 80 hours with ANC off or up to 35 hours with ANC on; those headline claims match its AAC figures. The Nothing product page does not make those runtimes a guarantee for every listening setup.

How long does it take to charge?
Nothing recommends a standard charger and a Type-C charging cable, and says the headphones support charging at up to 5 W. Its official charging guidance does not state how long a full charge takes, so there is no supported full-charge estimate to give. Nothing also advises keeping the battery above 50% if the headphones will be unused for an extended period. See Nothing’s charging guidance.
What does the charging light mean?
- A breathing white light means the headphones are charging.
- A steady white light means they are fully charged.
For battery status, Nothing says no light means depleted, red means below 30%, and white means at or above 30%. These indicator meanings are listed in Nothing’s battery-status instructions.

How much battery does a five-minute charge provide?
Nothing says a five-minute charge provides up to five hours of continuous use with ANC off, or up to 2.4 hours with ANC on. These are internal Nothing test results, measured using AAC at 50% volume and based on tests at 25°C/77°F. They are not guaranteed results; Nothing notes that runtime varies with volume, frequency, source, environmental interference, active features, and use habits. Can you replace the Nothing Headphone (1) battery?
The official Nothing information reviewed does not say the Headphone (1) battery is user-replaceable, list a replacement battery part, or establish a battery-replacement or repair program. If the battery no longer holds charge, contact Nothing’s regional support to ask which repair options and terms currently apply in your location. Do not assume the headphones are designed to be opened or that a particular service is available.

Can you replace the ear cushions?
Nothing identifies the original Headphone (1) cushions as PU leather (polyurethane synthetic leather) with high-resilience memory foam. The official material reviewed does not confirm that replacement cushions for the original Headphone (1) are available. Nothing has a separate replacement-cushion answer for Headphone (1) Pro, but that does not establish compatibility with the original model.
