Choose a TMNT display case by what you’re displaying—loose figures or figures in original packaging—then compare the usable interior dimensions with your figures, poses, accessories, and available shelf space. For a single loose figure, an individual cover may fit; for an army builder collection, a multi-level display or cabinet is usually a better layout. Carded figures need a case matched to the exact package.
Start with the kind of collection you have
A loose figure and a carded figure have different display needs. Loose figures can go in individual covers, on shelves inside a cabinet, or in a themed group scene. Carded or boxed figures need a case that fits the entire package, including its bubble or other protruding parts.
Before comparing products, decide whether you want a dust-enclosing case, an open display, or a scene that arranges many figures together. A themed diorama and a protective enclosure are not automatically the same thing.
Measure the figure, package, and display space
Use usable interior dimensions rather than the advertised scale alone. Measure the tallest pose you intend to display, including raised accessories, and check the figure’s footprint and stand. Leave room for the spacing you want and make sure the case itself fits the shelf or cabinet location.

- Loose figures: Measure the tallest pose and the widest footprint, including accessories and stands.
- Carded figures: Measure the full package—height, width, and bubble depth—not just the figure inside.
- Group displays: Estimate how many figures you want visible at once and how much shelf width and depth the arrangement can use.
Choose an individual case for a single loose figure
NECA’s Action Figure Cylindrical Display Case provides a useful sizing reference. Its 8-inch model is described as suitable for 6-inch-scale figures, with a 3.75-inch base diameter and a maximum figure height of 7.75 inches. NECA also lists a smaller model for 3¾-inch-scale figures, with a 2.25-inch base diameter and a maximum height of 4.75 inches. These are product specifications from NECA’s February 2020 product information, not a guarantee that every pose or accessory will fit. NECA describes the 8-inch case as one that “Displays and protects 6” scale figures.” That statement applies to the listed product; it does not establish a universal fit for every figure marketed at that scale.

For army builders, compare group displays and cabinets
A single-figure cylinder is not a practical substitute for a multi-figure layout. NECA describes its TMNT Cartoon Street Scene Diorama as a three-level display for 6–9-inch figures, with capacity for more than 30 figures. Its product listing showed it sold out when checked, so verify current availability. Collectors also discuss glass cabinets and stair-style risers, but those are anecdotal examples rather than evidence that one cabinet or riser is best. When comparing a cabinet or shelf arrangement, check the usable depth and height on each level, figure visibility, and how easily you can reach figures to reposition or dust them.

Match carded cases to the exact release and package
TMNT is not one universal figure or package size. NECA listings identify some army-builder figures at 7-inch scale, while specialist cases can target a particular maker, release, or package shape. Confirm the precise product and package match instead of assuming compatibility from the TMNT name alone.
For example, Deflector DC lists a fitted case for specified 1990 movie NECA TMNT figures and describes it as 600-micron (0.6 mm) UV-resistant, scratch-resistant, acid-free PET. Display Armour describes a 4 mm UV-resistant acrylic case for loose Playmates TMNT figures and comparable Movie Stars variants, with a sliding rear panel. Despite being sold by the same specialist, this is a loose-figure case, not a carded-package case. Check the stated dimensions and compatibility for your exact figure before ordering. Display Armour
For a carded figure, Display Armour advises matching the manufacturer, release era, card dimensions, and bubble depth. That guidance is useful when narrowing options, but it remains seller advice rather than a universal fit guarantee. Ask the case maker to confirm a fit if the listing does not state the relevant package dimensions.
Compare protection and access claims product by product
Material descriptions can help distinguish products, but the figures above are not a head-to-head comparison. Deflector DC states that its specified case uses 0.6 mm UV-resistant PET; Display Armour states that its loose-figure case uses 4 mm UV-resistant acrylic. These claims do not provide quantified UV performance, establish which material is more durable, or show suitability for every collection.
Likewise, a display that leaves figures easy to reach may suit someone who often changes poses, while an enclosure may be more useful to someone prioritizing separation from dust. The cited listings do not provide a measured comparison of visibility, access, durability, or protection across brands. Base your choice on the individual product’s stated dimensions, construction, access method, and intended figure or package.
