Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor a dark, mostly still scene, start with your Galaxy’s Night mode and keep the phone steady. Use Pro mode when you need to control exposure: lengthen the shutter for stationary scenes, or use a faster shutter for moving subjects and accept a darker or noisier image. There is no single ISO or shutter-speed setting that works for every Galaxy model and night scene.
Start with Night mode for a dim, still scene
Night mode is the simplest first choice for a dark street, building, or landscape. Samsung describes it as a multi-frame mode: its UK support page, updated 26 July 2023, says the phone combines 30 images into one shot. That figure describes Samsung’s explanation of the feature, not a guarantee that every Galaxy model or software version uses the same frame count.
Find it in the Camera app. On many devices, tap More > Night. The location and availability vary by model and software. Samsung’s One UI 8.5 instructions describe Night mode appearing as a moon icon in Photo mode when lighting conditions call for it. If you do not see Night, check your phone’s camera interface and model-specific Samsung support information; the mode is not available on every device.
Keep the phone as still as possible while the camera captures the image. Samsung recommends a tripod when possible. A smartphone tripod can help with a static scene or a multi-second exposure, but it will not freeze a person or other moving subject.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use Pro mode when you need to control exposure
Pro mode is a way to adapt the exposure to the scene, not a universal night preset. Its controls vary by Galaxy model. If your Camera app offers shutter speed, ISO, exposure value (EV), or white balance, change one control at a time and review the result.
- Shutter speed: A slower shutter lets in more light, but makes movement more visible. It can work for a stationary scene when the phone is supported. A moving person generally needs a faster shutter to reduce blur.
- ISO: Raising ISO can brighten an exposure or help you use a faster shutter, but it can also add visible image noise. Samsung India support specifically cautions that higher ISO settings can result in noise.
- Exposure value: If your device provides EV adjustment, increase it for a brighter result. The available range and its effect depend on the camera and mode.
- White balance: Adjust it if night lighting makes the image look too blue or orange. The appropriate setting depends on the light source and the color you want to retain.
For a stationary city view, support the phone and lengthen shutter time gradually, checking each frame for blur. For a moving subject, prioritize a faster shutter; if the result is too dark, raising ISO may help, with noise as the trade-off. Exact exposure values depend on the scene, lens, sensor, processing, and model.

Why a copied night-photo recipe may not work
Samsung’s low-light guide gives one creative Galaxy S21 Ultra example: an 8-second shutter, ISO 50, white balance 4300, and focus at infinity, with a flashlight briefly illuminating the foreground. Samsung’s older Galaxy S20 Ultra guide also shows a starry-sky example using a 30-second exposure. These are examples for particular creative shots, not recommended settings for routine night photos. A long exposure that suits a supported landscape can blur a person, traffic, or handheld camera movement.
Samsung UK’s 2023 Night mode explanation describes combining 30 images, but Samsung also notes that Night mode availability varies by model and software. Camera controls and image processing differ, so use example figures as context rather than expecting the same outcome on your phone.

Troubleshoot a dark preview or poor night image
Check Camera Assistant limits
If the preview seems unusually dark, Samsung says Camera Assistant’s minimum shutter speed or maximum ISO settings may be restricting the camera. Its troubleshooting steps advise setting those controls to None for a brighter preview. Camera Assistant availability depends on country support for Good Lock.
Clean the lens and reduce glare
Fingerprints, dust, or smudges can degrade photos, especially around bright lights at night. Clean the camera lens and try changing the angle or avoiding a strong light source if points of light streak or produce glare.

Recheck steadiness and subject movement
If a night image looks blurry, distinguish camera shake from subject motion. Support the phone or use a tripod for a stationary scene; for a moving subject, try a faster shutter in Pro mode if available. A stable phone cannot prevent blur caused by the subject moving during a long exposure.
