In AION 2, dismantling gear is called Extract. Before you sell or extract an item, check what it is for, look for a supply-request marker, and compare any storage or future-use option. If you open Extract, treat the live preview as authoritative: it shows the item being consumed, any Kina charge, and the rewards for that item. Selling, extracting, and deleting are different actions, and a mistake may not be reversible.
Choose what to do before clearing the Cube
Use this order for each item rather than treating all unwanted gear alike:
- Inspect the item. Read its description and binding or restriction information. Consider whether it is needed for equipment, another system, or later use. The available guidance does not establish a complete binding legend or a universal list of which items can be sold, stored, or extracted, so check the item and the current client.
- Check for a supply request. Some low-quality gear with a supply-request marker may be eligible for a turn-in. A community guide says a request reward can be more useful than extraction in some cases; its interface directions and eligibility may vary by build. See the community supply-request guide.
- Consider storage or future use. If you may need the item, keep it or use an available storage option rather than committing to an irreversible action. The sources do not establish that every item has a storage option.
- Compare sale and extraction. Selling is for Kina; extraction consumes eligible gear and may return materials or other rewards. Check the actual sale price or extraction preview before deciding.
How to extract gear
- Open the Cube and select the gear you are considering.
- Open the flask or beaker action in the item description to bring up Extract.
- Review the extraction panel. Confirm that you are willing to consume the item, check the Kina cost, and read the listed rewards.
- Confirm only if the displayed cost and rewards make sense for that item.
VGC’s October 1 guide describes Enhance Stones and a cosmetic skin as possible extraction rewards, but those examples are not a guaranteed or universal yield. The live item’s extraction panel is the final authority for its cost and reward list. Read VGC’s extraction guide.
Sell only after checking the item and price
If you want Kina, check the item and displayed sale price before committing to an NPC shop sale. Do not sell an item merely to clear inventory space on the assumption that support can return it: NCSoft’s global restoration policy expressly excludes items sold to free up inventory space. What happens if you make a mistake?
NCSoft’s global policy lists a mistaken NPC shop sale and a mistaken extraction as potentially restorable once per account per year, subject to the policy’s exceptions. Restoration is not guaranteed in every case. The policy says wings and Arcana extracted by mistake cannot be restored, and it excludes routine inventory-clearing sales. Do not treat the restoration allowance as a safety net: confirm the item and action before proceeding.
NCSoft’s policy states: “Items sold to free up inventory space, etc., cannot be restored.” Review the full policy for its conditions and exceptions before relying on restoration.

Automatic equipment extraction
NCSoft announced an automatic equipment Extract function inside the inventory Cube in its March 11, 2026 update announcement. The announcement establishes that the feature was announced, but does not explain its current settings or establish identical availability in every regional client.
