For iPhone and iPad owners who want downloadable games, Apple Arcade is the most direct Netflix alternative in this comparison; for Android users, Google Play Pass is the broadest game-and-app option. If you want console games streamed to your phone, Xbox Cloud Gaming is a different kind of service, with greater network and controller requirements. Which is best depends on your device, the games available where you live, and whether you want to download games or stream them.
At a glance: which service fits your phone?
| Service | Best fit | What it offers | Key limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Arcade | iPhone and iPad users seeking a curated downloadable library | Apple describes hundreds of games without ads or in-app purchases, playable online or offline on supported Apple devices. | Requires Apple hardware; supported devices and controller use vary by game. |
| Google Play Pass | Android users looking for a selection of games and apps | Google says the subscription includes over 1,000 games and apps without ads or in-app purchases; Family Library is supported. | Availability and selection vary by country and can change over time. |
| Xbox Cloud Gaming | Players who want supported console games streamed to a phone or tablet | Xbox lists Apple and Android phones and tablets among supported devices. | Cloud play depends on region, eligible plan, connection and game; most titles require a controller. |
Netflix Games is the point of comparison, not an alternative in this list: Netflix games are downloaded to mobile devices and accessed through an active Netflix account and profile. See Netflix’s mobile game instructions and its current game catalog.
Apple Arcade: best for iPhone and iPad owners who want downloads
Apple Arcade is the closest match here for someone who wants a curated mobile-game subscription rather than cloud streaming. Apple says it offers hundreds of premium games without ads or in-app purchases, and that games can be played online or offline. Its supported devices include iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K and Apple Vision Pro. Details and current availability are on Apple’s Apple Arcade page.
Price and sharing
Apple’s US page lists Apple Arcade at $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Those are US prices shown on the page when checked in 2026; confirm the price at local checkout because pricing and availability can vary by country. Apple says Family Sharing can include up to five additional family members.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What to check before subscribing
- Search the current catalog for specific games you expect to play. “Hundreds” is Apple’s description, not a guaranteed fixed count.
- Confirm that the games you care about support the devices and accessories you plan to use; controller support varies by title.
- Offline play is useful for travel, but download the game beforehand and check its individual requirements.
Google Play Pass: best for Android users who want games and apps
Google Play Pass is the Android-centered choice. Google says subscribers get over 1,000 games and apps without ads or in-app purchases. It is a selection from Google Play, not access to every Play Store game. Google also supports Family Library. See Google’s Play Pass subscription and catalog details.
Catalog and price checks
Google cautions that Play Pass availability and selection vary by country and change over time. Some apps can leave the subscription; after that, an app may require a separate purchase or show ads or in-app purchases. The cited Google support page does not establish a reliable current subscription price, so check the price shown in Google Play for your country before subscribing.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Who should choose it
Play Pass makes the most sense if you use Android and find enough games or apps in its current local selection to justify the recurring charge. Check the titles themselves rather than assuming a favorite game is included simply because it is available in Google Play.
Xbox Cloud Gaming: best for streaming console games to a phone
Xbox Cloud Gaming is not a native mobile-game catalog like Apple Arcade or Play Pass. It streams supported console games to compatible devices, including Apple and Android phones and tablets listed by Xbox. Cloud play generally requires an eligible Game Pass plan and a supported region, as well as a compatible device and a sufficiently strong connection. Xbox’s Cloud Gaming page lists setup requirements and current details.

Connection and controls
- Xbox gives 10 Mbps for mobile as a best-performance connection rate and recommends 5 GHz Wi-Fi. This is provider guidance, not a guarantee of smooth streaming.
- Xbox says a compatible controller connected by Bluetooth or USB is required. Select games also support Xbox touch controls, but do not assume touch is available for every title.
- Streaming quality can be affected by network conditions, location, device and game. If you have limited data or unreliable connectivity, a downloadable game subscription may be a better fit.
Plan details can change
Xbox Wire’s December 19, 2025 guide described Game Pass Essential as including more than 50 games at $10 per month and Premium as including 200+ games at $14.99 per month at the time of publication. These are dated plan figures, not a guarantee of current prices, cloud entitlements or catalog size. Check the current Xbox Cloud Gaming guide and plan terms for your region before subscribing.
How to choose the right service
- Start with your device. Choose between Apple Arcade for Apple devices and Play Pass for Android; consider Xbox Cloud Gaming if your priority is streamed console games.
- Decide whether you want downloads or streaming. Downloadable games can suit offline play. Cloud streaming depends on a connection and usually a controller.
- Look up the games you actually want. Catalog size alone does not tell you whether your preferred titles are included in your country.
- Compare the local recurring price and family options. Apple publishes US prices on its page; Google’s cited help page does not provide a dependable current price. Xbox plan features and prices are subject to change.
- Check how ads and purchases are handled. Apple and Google describe their included catalogs as having no ads or in-app purchases, but that promise applies to the subscription selection, not every game in their stores.
What about Netflix Games?
Netflix remains a useful baseline if you already subscribe: its games install from mobile app stores and use an active Netflix account and profile. Supported operating-system versions and game availability apply. Netflix’s help page explains how to install and play; the Netflix Games page lists its catalog. For a different service, choose based on device and play style rather than treating Netflix as an option in this comparison.
