It adds features such as multi-step app tasks, help with web research and forms, speech cleanup, and custom widgets. Google has not established that every feature or usage level is free: some features may require a subscription for higher usage, and selected features have usage limits.
What is Gemini Intelligence?
Announced by Google on May 12, 2026, Gemini Intelligence is a set of more proactive Gemini features for select Android devices. Google describes the capabilities below; its announcement does not independently establish how well they perform in everyday use.
Tasks across apps
Gemini can handle multi-step tasks across selected apps, with examples including shopping and reservations. The specific apps and availability may vary.
Research and form filling
Google describes Gemini in Chrome as a way to research the web, summarize information, and compare options. Form-filling assistance can draw on connected Google apps. Connecting Gemini with Autofill and personal Google app context is opt-in, according to Google.

Google’s general criteria include at least 12GB of RAM, a qualified system-on-chip, advanced on-device AI processing, current media processing, and applicable software performance benchmarks. Its Android feature page also specifies Nano v3 or greater, a flagship chip, software upgrade and security requirements, and quality checks. Meeting one hardware threshold alone does not establish eligibility.
Check Google’s current Gemini Intelligence phone list and eligibility details before deciding whether a particular device qualifies. Eligibility and feature availability can change.

Will the upgrade come to every eligible phone?
No. Google says availability can vary by country, language, device type, and feature. In its May announcement, Google said rollout would begin with the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones in summer 2026, with wider Android-device availability later in the year. Its June Android 17 announcement said Android 17 was rolling out first to Pixel, followed by other eligible Android devices throughout 2026, and that Gemini Intelligence would come to select advanced devices later that summer. These are dated rollout statements, not confirmation that every eligible phone in every market has received every feature.
Google’s May announcement also described a longer-term plan to bring Gemini Intelligence to Android devices including watches, cars, glasses, and laptops later in 2026. That does not mean those device categories have the same phone eligibility or feature set.

Is Gemini Intelligence free?
Google’s reviewed pages do not establish that the complete upgrade is free at every usage level. The Android feature page says some features may require a subscription for higher usage, and Android Help notes that selected features have usage limits. Having an eligible phone therefore does not guarantee unlimited use at no charge. Check the details shown in Gemini for your account and region; Google’s pages do not settle exactly which usage levels will be free.

Do not buy a phone solely on the assumption that Gemini Intelligence is free, available in your country, or unlimited. If you are already considering a replacement, use this checklist:

- Carrier: This phone is locked to Tracfone, which means this device can only be used on the Tracfone wireless network. Activating is easy, just 3 steps.
- ACTIVATION Promotion: Includes 1500 min, 1500 texts & 1500 MB Data + add more as you need it
- CAMERA SYSTEM: 50MP Quad Pixel camera. Capture sharper, more vibrant photos day or night with 4x the light sensitivity.
- PERFORMANCE: Blazing-fast Qualcomm performance. Get the speed you need for great entertainment with a Snapdragon 680 processor and 4GB of RAM.
- 64GB built-in storage. Get plenty of room for photos, movies, songs, and apps. Made for US
- Look up the exact model in Google’s current eligible-device list.
- Check software and hardware requirements; a similar model name or sufficient RAM by itself is not enough.
- Confirm that the particular feature you want is available for your device, country, and language.
- Review in-product usage limits and any subscription terms for your account.
The Gemini app’s broader availability on Android is separate from eligibility for Gemini Intelligence. An Android phone that is not on the listed models may still use Gemini, but that does not establish that it can run this feature set.
What Google has—and has not—confirmed
Google has announced the feature categories, published criteria and an eligible-phone list, and described a phased rollout. Its statements support describing Gemini Intelligence as a significant upgrade for selected devices. They do not establish independent performance results, universal availability, or a universal no-cost allowance. The list, rollout, regional availability, and usage terms may change.
