Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was reported to include a four-month Spotify Premium perk in 2021, but current availability has not been verified. Before buying or renewing Game Pass for this benefit, check the Perks section in your Xbox account and open the offer’s terms for your region. The four-month claim is historical—not confirmation of a live offer.
Is Spotify Premium still free with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate?
There is no verified current four-month offer in the available information. A report published by Pure Xbox in May 2021 said Spotify Premium was returning as an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perk, and a Spotify Community discussion from that period also mentioned a four-month Xbox-linked offer. The community discussion is anecdotal, and neither source establishes that the offer can still be claimed in 2026.
Xbox’s Game Pass Perks page describes the Perks program, but the page information available here does not confirm a Spotify promotion. Check your own account’s Perks listing and the linked offer terms; availability, eligibility, and deadlines may depend on the current offer and your region. Do not subscribe to Game Pass on the assumption that Spotify is included.
It is also important not to confuse the reported four-month perk with an earlier, official six-month promotion. Spotify’s US terms and an Xbox Wire announcement document a separate offer effective October 1, 2019. Those historical terms do not prove that the four-month perk is available now or define its rules.

How to check for and claim a current offer
- Open the Perks area in your Xbox account or consult the Xbox Game Pass Perks page.
- If Spotify Premium appears, open the offer and read its linked terms before claiming. Confirm the country, qualifying Game Pass tier, eligibility rules, claim deadline, trial length, payment requirements, and renewal conditions.
- Follow the claim route shown in that offer. Do not rely on instructions or claim links from the 2019 promotion; the four-month offer’s current claim method has not been verified.
- Review the billing terms before activating. If the offer converts to a paid subscription and you do not want to continue, note the cancellation deadline and follow the instructions in the current terms.
The evidence for the four-month offer does not establish its eligible regions, qualifying membership, code process, expiry date, or renewal price. Use the terms displayed with any live offer rather than carrying conditions over from an older promotion.
What the older six-month Spotify offer required
Spotify’s official US terms for its six-month offer, effective October 1, 2019, required the user to be new to Spotify Premium. A person who had previously subscribed to Premium or Unlimited, or used a trial or introductory offer, was excluded. The terms also required an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass for PC subscription, direct billing by Spotify, and a valid current payment method; prepaid cards and Spotify gift cards did not qualify. Redemption was limited to once per eligible user.

For that historical offer, Spotify provided a code after purchase of an approved Game Pass product, and the code was redeemed on Spotify’s website. Xbox Wire said the offer was limited-time, described eligibility as residence in the US or UK, and said the code could take a few days to arrive by email and the Xbox message center. These are details of the 2019 six-month offer only, not verified instructions for a four-month perk.
The 2019 Spotify terms also said the subscription would automatically become paid at the then-current monthly price after the free period unless the user cancelled beforehand. Cancellation was available through the Spotify account page. That historical billing condition does not establish the terms of a current offer, so check the displayed renewal details before activation.

Why might Spotify say you are not eligible?
Eligibility depends on the terms of the particular offer. If a live promotion rejects your account, check the offer’s stated rules for region, Game Pass tier, prior Spotify subscriptions or trials, payment method, and whether the account must be new to Premium. The older six-month offer excluded people with previous Premium or Unlimited subscriptions and prior trials or introductory offers, but those exclusions cannot be assumed to apply to a different promotion.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you use Spotify on an Xbox?
Yes. Spotify’s support information lists Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One as supported consoles. It describes signing in with an account and password, Spotify Connect, or a pairing PIN. Playback can continue while a game is open, with controls available through the Xbox Guide or Spotify Connect. This device support is separate from promotional eligibility: being able to use Spotify on Xbox does not mean a Game Pass perk is currently available.
