NASA’s official live schedule checked for Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, lists an International Space Station event—not a Mars announcement. The claim that NASA is teasing a major Mars announcement or livestream could not be verified in the official material available. Check NASA Live for schedule updates.
What NASA’s schedule lists for Oct. 4
NASA Live lists coverage at 10:20 a.m. of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-12 farewell remarks and the change-of-command ceremony aboard the International Space Station. The event is not described as a Mars announcement.
NASA lists these platforms for the scheduled coverage:
- X
- Discovery+

How to check for an official Mars livestream
- Open NASA Live and check the event schedule for a Mars-related listing and its time.
- If you want an official NASA stream, use NASA+ or another platform specifically listed for that event.
- Check NASA’s news releases for a matching announcement. The Mars overview page provides general mission information, but does not identify the claimed Oct. 4 event.
Why the MAVEN notice is not confirmation
NASA’s June 3, 2026, release said the MAVEN mission had ended after more than 11 years in orbit and noted a media teleconference whose audio streamed through NASA Live. That was a past Mars-related notice; it does not confirm an Oct. 4 announcement or livestream. See NASA’s MAVEN mission release.
