The release let users find projects through a repository, organization, or their profile; switch project views; read and edit project fields; and take actions on project items. Those are the capabilities documented in that announcement—not proof that the mobile app supports every feature in the broader GitHub Projects product or that the same feature set is current today.
What GitHub announced in March 2023
GitHub’s March 14, 2023 changelog marked Projects on GitHub Mobile generally available for iOS and Android. It named three ways to reach a project: through a repository, an organization, or a user profile. Once inside, users could switch project views and browse project information in a readable list.
The list displayed custom fields and metadata, with status, category, priority, and iteration given as examples. Tapping allowed users to edit fields; long-pressing a project item opened further actions, including closing the item or previewing its content.
How mobile project access developed
| Date | Release stage | What GitHub documented |
|---|---|---|
| October 11, 2022 | Public beta | The beta announcement described finding projects through repositories, organizations, or a profile; switching views; and presenting project tables as lists. |
| March 14, 2023 | Generally available | The GA changelog confirmed iOS and Android availability and described project discovery, view switching, visible metadata, field editing, and item actions. |
| June 27, 2023 | Home-screen access update | A later changelog entry said users could access all projects they collaborated on directly from the GitHub Mobile home screen. |
What the beta described in more detail
The October 2022 beta post adds interaction details beyond the March GA changelog. It described collapsible buckets for showing or hiding groups, and metadata displayed as pills. It also listed editing fields, deleting an item, and previewing content among the long-press actions. From a preview, a user could open issue details and write a comment.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
These are details documented for the beta, so they should not be treated as confirmation that every interaction remained identical at general availability or remains unchanged now. The GA announcement specifically confirms field editing and actions such as closing an item or previewing its content.
Mobile Projects versus GitHub Projects overall
GitHub Projects is a broader planning and tracking product connected to GitHub Issues. In its July 27, 2022 general-availability overview, GitHub described table and board views, custom fields, and other project-planning capabilities. That overview describes the product overall; it does not establish that every Projects feature is available in GitHub Mobile.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
What the 2023 release does—and does not—establish
The dated announcements are useful for understanding when mobile access became generally available and what GitHub explicitly documented at launch. They do not establish the complete feature set in the app today, supported operating-system versions, or app-store availability by region as of October 4, 2026. For current behavior, check GitHub’s live product documentation and the relevant app listing rather than assuming the 2023 release notes still describe the app in full.
