Check Epic Games Public Status and open the specific service or component that is unavailable. If Epic has not posted a restoration estimate, keep monitoring the status page: Epic says Player Support has no additional information about server outages. Developers should use the support route for the affected product—especially the separate Unreal Engine support channels for Unreal Engine issues.
Check the affected Epic service, not just the overall status
Epic’s status page lists components across games, the Epic Games Store, Epic Online Services, Developer Portal, Unreal Engine and related products. Find the component tied to the problem: one service can be affected while others remain operational. An overall status label alone may not describe what is unavailable to you.
The page also lists incidents and scheduled maintenance. Read the incident details for the affected component and any stated impact. For example, an Epic Online Services maintenance notice may identify Sessions and Lobbies and explain effects such as existing sessions timing out or new session creation, invites, search and matchmaking being temporarily unavailable. That illustrates the detail to look for; it is not evidence of a current outage.
Status and incident information changes. Check the live page when the problem occurs and revisit it for updates rather than relying on an old incident report or status snapshot.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to find out when service will return
Epic’s outage guidance says the status page may show when a service will be back online. Treat an estimate as conditional, and use only the timeframe shown for the affected service. A status color by itself is not a restoration estimate.
If there is no timeframe, continue monitoring the status page. Epic says, “Player Support doesn’t have additional information on server outages,” so contacting Player Support will not provide a separate outage ETA.

Unreal Engine
Use the Unreal Engine support portal for direct support requests. For other needs, Epic provides documentation for guides, reference and release notes, forums for community discussion, and the Developer Community for tutorials, courses and Q&A. Epic distinguishes Unreal Engine help from general Epic Games Support, which cannot directly assist with Unreal Engine issues.
When the cause might be your own connection
Epic’s status page helps establish whether an Epic component has a reported incident; it cannot by itself diagnose a local network or device problem. Compare the affected component with the incident details, and consider whether the problem is limited to your connection or device. Epic Online Services backends also support the Epic Games Store and games including Fortnite, Rocket League and Fall Guys, so a dependency can affect more than one product.

For developers using Unreal Engine 5.8, the Online Services Connectivity Interface provides a way to detect service connectivity. GetConnectionStatus can query a particular microservice; if no service is specified, it reports connected only when all underlying microservices are connected. OnConnectionStatusChanged signals changes in connection status. Epic marks this interface beta and advises caution when shipping. It is a detection mechanism—not a way to restore Epic’s backend—and available services can differ by platform. See Epic’s Connectivity Interface documentation.
Monitoring status updates programmatically
Epic’s status service documents machine-readable status summaries, component states, incident lists, scheduled-maintenance endpoints and Atom/RSS feeds. These may help developers or publishers automate monitoring. For the authoritative user-facing view of an incident, use Epic’s official status page.
