HotHardware reported the listing on May 6, 2025, before the card was available to buy. NVIDIA had announced a $299 starting price for the desktop RTX 5060, making the listing notable for how closely it matched that baseline.
What Best Buy listed
HotHardware’s May 6, 2025 report identified the PNY GeForce RTX 5060 as the first—and, at that time, only—RTX 5060 listing it had found at Best Buy. The listed price was $299.99. The product was not yet released, so the listing was a posted price, not an in-stock deal readers could purchase that day.

How the listing compared with NVIDIA’s announced price
NVIDIA’s April 2025 launch announcement set the desktop GeForce RTX 5060’s starting price at $299. The PNY listing was therefore 99 cents above NVIDIA’s announced starting figure, while remaining below the $300 mark.
NVIDIA also announced separate RTX 5060 Ti configurations: the 8GB model started at $379 and the 16GB model at $429. Those are prices for the Ti, a distinct product; they are not prices for the RTX 5060 discussed in the Best Buy listing.
When the card was expected to go on sale
HotHardware later updated its May 6 report with NVIDIA’s release timing: May 19, 2025, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. The timing covered RTX 5060 graphics cards, desktops, and RTX 5060 laptop GPUs from partners and retailers worldwide. NVIDIA’s May 19 “Out Now” announcement directed buyers to its GeForce RTX 5060 Product Finder to locate partner cards and PCs.
What Best Buy’s current listings show
The Best Buy RTX 5060 category snapshot accessed on October 4, 2026 showed multiple board-partner brands, including PNY, ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, and ZOTAC. In that snapshot, a PNY Overclocked 8GB card was displayed at $449.99; an MSI listing displayed at $375.99 was marked sold out. These are time-sensitive catalog observations, not stable market prices or comparable offers. Prices and availability can vary by region or seller.

The historical PNY price does not establish what a card should cost today. When comparing live listings, check the details that determine what you are actually buying:
- Checkout price: Confirm the final price, including any applicable delivery charges, rather than relying on an old listing or category-page snapshot.
- Exact model and seller: Match the board model or SKU and identify who is selling it.
- Specifications: Compare memory capacity and clock specifications for the specific card.
- Fit: Check the card’s dimensions and slot width against your case and available expansion space.
- Availability: Verify stock and delivery status. A sold-out listing is not a purchasable offer.
The cited Best Buy category establishes that partner models and displayed prices differ; it does not establish which model is fastest or best value. NVIDIA’s quoted price is a manufacturer-announced starting price, not a guarantee that every partner card will be available at that amount.
