To save a favorite outfit in an MMO, open its appearance or wardrobe feature, choose the look for the relevant gear slots or set, then use the game’s explicit save or apply command. The exact menu and whether saving, changing, or switching outfits costs in-game currency depend on the game.
How outfit saving works across MMOs
There is no universal MMO outfit menu. Some games save appearances for individual equipment slots; others store a coordinated look as a plate, fashion template, or outfit. A preview is not necessarily saved, so look for a distinct Save, Apply, or equivalent action.

- Open the game’s appearance feature, such as its wardrobe, transmog, fashion, or glamour system.
- Choose the cosmetic appearance for the desired slots, or select and customize an outfit set if the game supports sets.
- Use the feature’s explicit save or apply command.
- Check the game’s current interface for any cost to unlock an outfit slot, change a look, or switch between saved looks; these can be separate actions with different costs.

Before you spend currency or change gear
- Identify what the saved look attaches to. A slot-based transmog can carry an appearance onto newly equipped gear in that slot; a plate or template stores a coordinated set of cosmetic choices.
- Distinguish saving from applying. A saved template may need to be applied separately, while another system may apply changes directly.
- Check costs at the action you intend to take. Unlocking a saved slot, updating appearances, and switching between saved outfits may not share the same price.
- Confirm eligibility and limits in the current game. Slot counts, compatible items, and costs can change with updates, and some outfit systems have restrictions on which pieces form a set.
What to do if your outfit does not appear to save
- Return to the appearance feature and confirm that you used its Save or Apply command rather than only previewing the look.
- Check whether you saved a template or plate but still need to apply it.
- Verify that the appearance can be used for the selected gear category and that any set-compatibility rules are met.
- Check whether the game requires an unlocked slot or currency for the change, and consult its current interface or official support instructions for the applicable rule.
