There is no single uninstall method for every app called JEV or Jev. First confirm the exact product, publisher or project, operating system, and how it was installed. The commands below apply only to the okooo5km/jev CLI; other products need their own platform-specific instructions.
Identify which JEV you have
Several unrelated products use similar names. Before removing files, check the app’s full name and publisher in its app list or project documentation, along with your operating system and installation method. In particular, TmaxSoft JEUS is not the same product as the JEV CLI.
- okooo5km/jev: a command-line tool. Its README documents the cleanup steps below.
- Jev Chat Assistant: separate Android, Windows, and macOS implementations. Use the documentation for the exact platform project; the project page does not provide one universal uninstall procedure. See the Jev Chat Assistant project page.
- Jev Browser Control: a separate browser-control product with its own documentation. Do not apply the CLI’s file paths to it. See the Jev Browser Control documentation.
- TmaxSoft JEUS 9.1 on Windows: use the vendor’s bundled uninstaller and check for leftovers as described below. See the JEUS 9.1 Windows documentation.
If the product or installation method is unclear, pause rather than deleting similarly named files. The CLI paths are not a general-purpose JEV removal recipe.
Remove the okooo5km/jev CLI
The project README lists three separate locations: the executable, the data directory, and an optional configuration directory. Check whether your XDG environment variables redirect the data or configuration directories before using the commands. The expressions below resolve to the defaults when those variables are unset.

- Check what the paths resolve to. On macOS or Linux, run:

Make sure these locations belong to this CLI before removing them. - Remove the executable and data directory. After confirming the paths, run:
rm -f "$HOME/.local/bin/jev"rm -rf "${XDG_DATA_HOME:-$HOME/.local/share}/jev" - Decide whether to remove configuration. The README says the configuration directory contains the key and custom specs. Back up anything you need, then remove it only if you want those settings and credentials deleted:
rm -rf "${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-$HOME/.config}/jev"
These commands are destructive: the recursive removal commands permanently delete the specified directories and their contents. Do not run them if the paths resolve unexpectedly or if you have not preserved files you want to keep.
Platform and installation limits
The CLI README describes installation for macOS and Linux, says Windows is untested, and recommends WSL. It also says that this installer does not edit shell profile files and does not require sudo. Those notes describe this project’s installer; they are not assurances about other JEV products or every installation method. If you used WSL, perform the cleanup in the same Linux environment where the CLI was installed.

If the product is TmaxSoft JEUS 9.1 on Windows
Do not use the CLI commands for JEUS. The vendor’s JEUS 9.1 instructions say to stop its programs, then run the uninstaller from the JEUS home directory’s UninstallerDataJEUS9 folder or from the Start menu. Follow the prompts in that uninstaller.
JEUS’s uninstaller does not automatically remove files created after installation. Afterward, check for remaining files and shortcuts, and review environment variables and PATH for JEUS entries. Remove only items you can identify as belonging to that JEUS installation; preserve application data or configuration you still need.

When the name matches but the instructions do not
For Jev Chat Assistant, choose the Android, Windows, or macOS project matching your installation and follow that project’s own removal guidance. For Jev Browser Control, use its product documentation. The available project pages do not establish one cross-platform procedure for either product, so adapting the CLI commands would be guesswork.
