Use the FC 27 Web App when you want browser access to Ultimate Team, and the Companion App when you want to manage your club from an iOS or Android phone or tablet. EA documents club-management activities for the Companion App, but its published guides do not establish that every feature works identically on both platforms. Logging in also does not automatically unlock the Transfer Market.
What’s the difference between the FC 27 Web App and Companion App?
Both let you manage an Ultimate Team club away from active gameplay. The key distinction is how you access them: the Web App runs in a browser, while the Companion App is EA’s mobile version for iOS and Android devices, including tablets. EA’s FC 27 app guide says to sign in with the EA Account associated with FC 27.

EA’s Companion App page describes its listed activities, but that is not evidence that those activities are exclusive to mobile. Choose by access surface—browser or mobile—not on an assumption that one platform has features EA has not confirmed.

These are activities EA documents for the Companion App. Its published information does not establish comparative speed, usability, or performance, nor does it provide a complete list of Web App capabilities.
How do you access the apps?
EA’s FC 27 guide lists September 16, 2026 as the Web App online date. It says eligible FC 26 returners in good standing could start using the Transfer Market then. The source does not separately confirm a FC 27 Companion App release date, so do not assume it launched on the same date.

- Open the Web App in a browser, or install and open the Companion App on an iOS or Android device.
- Sign in with the EA Account you use for FC 27.
- Check that your Ultimate Team Club and Squad load. EA identifies this as the sign of a successful app login.
Being able to sign in and view your club is separate from having Transfer Market access in the app.

EA applies separate eligibility rules to the app Transfer Market. A successful login alone does not grant access. According to EA’s Transfer Market access guidance, returning-player eligibility may be based on having earned access in an earlier game and having an account in good standing. For FC 27, EA names access earned in FC 26 before August 1, 2026; FC 25 before August 1, 2025; or FC 24 before August 1, 2024 as possible bases for returning-player eligibility. Players who do not qualify may need to earn access by playing FC 27 Ultimate Team.

What EA counts as an active day
For earning app Transfer Market access, EA defines an active day as playing three full Ultimate Team matches and logging into either the Web App or Companion App within the same UTC calendar day. EA’s examples say a qualifying account in good standing with no other Ultimate Team accounts used on the device normally receives access after two active days. If other accounts have been used on the device, access normally takes at least four active days. These are EA’s examples, not guaranteed unlock times.
How to check or understand a restriction
- EA says it notifies players in-game when access is unlocked; you can also check app Transfer Market access in either app.
- If app Transfer Market access is blocked for rule violations, the in-game Transfer Market may still be available.
- An FC 26 Transfer Market ban does not automatically carry over to FC 27. A franchise ban does carry over.
Because eligibility dates and rules are tied to annual releases, check EA’s current access guidance for the game you are playing rather than relying on an older season’s instructions.
