If you are asking, “Which controller is good for a PC gamer?”, start by checking your games’ controller support, then compare connection type, platform compatibility, and features you will actually use.
Start with your games and connection preference
PC controller support varies by game. Check the game’s store page or in-game settings before buying; Steam Input can help configure supported games, but it cannot add controller support to a game that lacks it. Steam Input
Next, decide whether you prefer a direct wired connection or wireless play. A wired controller avoids the need to pair a wireless device, while wireless convenience depends on the specific controller’s supported connection modes. Do not assume a controller has Bluetooth or a dedicated wireless receiver unless its product specifications say so.
For straightforward wired play: GameSir G7 SE
The GameSir G7 SE is a wired controller for Xbox and PC, described by GameSir as an “Officially Licensed Wired Controller for XBOX & PC with Hall Effect Sticks.” It is a candidate for PC players who do not need wireless play and want Hall Effect sticks. GameSir listed it at $54.99 when its product page was accessed in 2026; that is a vendor price snapshot, not a guaranteed current price. Check the live price, stock, and exact color or design variant before buying. GameSir G7 SE product page

Hall Effect sticks are a design feature relevant to buyers concerned about stick drift, not a guarantee that drift cannot occur or a measured lifespan claim. The available information does not establish an independently tested performance advantage for this model.
For wireless convenience: verify the exact model’s modes
Wireless is not a single connection standard. Depending on the controller, it may mean Bluetooth or a dedicated wireless accessory; some models may also support USB. Confirm the connection options for the exact model and variant, and check whether the device you plan to use supports them. If you also want to use a controller with a console, verify that console’s compatibility and any wired-connection requirement rather than inferring it from PC support.

For customization or competitive controls: pay for features you will use
Remappable buttons, rear paddles, trigger modes, and customization software can be useful when they fit the games you play or the control layout you prefer. They add little value if you will leave them unused. Check the product specifications for the exact controls and supported software rather than assuming premium controllers share the same feature set.

The Steam Controller (2026) is a PC-focused option for players interested in controls beyond conventional thumbsticks and buttons. TechRadar’s review lists compatibility with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android; connection through the Steam Controller Puck, USB, or Bluetooth; TMR magnetic thumbsticks; four remappable grip buttons; and two haptic trackpads.
