If an Android browser starts crashing, freezing, or refusing to load pages after an update, first identify which kind of failure you have. The timing alone does not prove the update caused it. Close extra tabs, reload, restart the browser and device, then test the same page in another browser to narrow down the cause.
First, identify what “broken” means
Different symptoms point to different places to investigate. Note whether the browser itself exits or freezes, whether it will not start, whether one page or all pages fail to load, or whether the problem happens only when you open a link inside another app.
- Chrome keeps crashing or won’t open: the browser may be short on memory or affected by a browser-specific problem.
- Web pages won’t load: compare one page with several pages, and compare the affected browser with another one.
- Android apps keep crashing or an in-app page fails: if the same site works in a full browser, the host app or its embedded web content may be involved.
If you need to contact support, record the browser name, device model, Android version, and the update you installed.
Try these safe, reversible steps first
- Close extra tabs and other apps. Google recommends freeing memory by closing tabs and apps you are not using.
- Pause downloads, then reload the problem tab. This can help if the device is busy or the page did not finish loading.
- Close and reopen the browser. If Chrome is the affected app, fully close it and launch it again.
- Restart the phone or tablet. A restart is a useful low-risk check after an app or system update.
These are Google’s basic suggestions for Chrome problems on Android; see Fix Chrome if it crashes or won’t open.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Check whether the problem is the browser, page, or network
Open the same page in another browser. This comparison helps separate a Chrome-specific issue from a problem affecting the page or connection.
- The page works in another browser: focus on the affected browser or its profile. Google lists reinstalling Chrome as a later option. Before deleting browsing data or reinstalling, consider whether you need local browsing data; deleting it can remove data stored on the device.
- The page fails in multiple browsers: the issue may be with the network or the site rather than one browser. If other online services also fail, restart the modem and router when practical. If the problem appears limited to one site, contact its owner if it continues.
- Only one page fails: compare that page with other sites in the same browser before changing app settings. A single-site failure is not by itself evidence that the browser update is faulty.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
When an in-app page points to Android System WebView
Some apps display web pages inside their own screens instead of opening a full browser. Android’s WebView documentation describes WebView as a component apps can use to show web content; unlike a fully developed browser, it does not supply features such as an address bar or navigation controls.
If a link fails inside one app but the same site works in a browser, the host app or its embedded web content is a reasonable diagnostic lead. That pattern does not prove WebView is the cause: the app itself or the particular page it embeds could also be responsible.

What the documented WebView update incident does—and does not—show
Google documented a specific app-crash incident in March 2021. In a notice dated March 23, Google said reports began March 22 and that its investigation linked the issue to a recent Android System WebView update. Google halted that update, posted a new version, and told affected users to update Android System WebView and Google Chrome. The fix identified in the notice was version 89.0.4389.105. Google also noted that some devices do not have WebView preinstalled and only need Chrome updated. Read the dated Google incident notice in its historical context; it is not a current status report or proof that a problem after an update today has the same cause.
Samsung’s support guidance, updated June 22, 2021, likewise addressed reports of apps crashing after a WebView update. For Galaxy devices, it recommends updating Chrome and Android System WebView—and WebView Beta where relevant—and restarting. The article also includes older-device-specific directions, including a Play Store cache/data step when updates are stuck and a workaround for older phones where WebView is disabled. Those directions may not apply to other manufacturers or newer software, so use Samsung’s Galaxy-oriented instructions only where they match your device and situation.

Do not begin by manually uninstalling WebView updates. In its March 2021 notice, Google warned that doing so “may result in loss of data from some apps.” If you suspect an app-component update problem, check for official app updates in the app store and follow current instructions for your device.
