Not with the Android options verified here. J2ME Loader can emulate many Java ME games, but it does not come with a game catalogue: you still need to supply the game. If “without a JAR file” means you do not want to handle a file yourself, the sources reviewed do not verify an Android service with a built-in catalogue of classic games.
What “without a JAR file” can mean
A Java ME emulator and a game are separate things. The J2ME Loader Google Play listing describes an emulator, not a collection of games. Another documented workflow, RezRetro’s import instructions, requires supplying a JAR or JAD file. A browser-based emulator surfaced in the available sources also asks the user to select a JAR.
- No game file at all: The documented options do not meet this requirement. An emulator needs a game to run, and no built-in catalogue was verified.
- No manual file handling: A hosted catalogue or service could potentially avoid local file management, but the sources here do not establish a currently available Android option with rights-cleared classic titles built in.
What J2ME Loader does on Android
J2ME Loader is the Android option documented here. Its Google Play listing says it supports most 2D games and 3D games with limitations. It includes a virtual keyboard, screen scaling, and settings for individual applications. The listing names Mascot Capsule 3D games as unsupported, so compatibility depends on the particular title; broad support is not a guarantee that every game will work on every device.
The project README lists Android 4.0 or later as the system requirement and links to project compatibility lists for tested touchscreen and non-touchscreen games, as well as a list of games with bugs. These are project-provided references, not guarantees of current compatibility across Android devices.

How to try a game you are entitled to use
- Install J2ME Loader: Find J2ME Loader on Google Play and install it on an Android device that meets the project’s stated Android 4.0+ requirement.
- Supply the game: You will need the game’s JAR file, and sometimes a JAD file, through an import or selection workflow. Use only a game file you are entitled to use. The sources cited here do not establish the legality or availability of downloads for any particular commercial title.
- Check compatibility: Consult the compatibility links in the J2ME Loader project README for relevant test results and known bugs. Treat them as guidance rather than a promise for your device.
- Adjust controls and display: Use the emulator’s virtual keyboard, scaling, and per-app settings to make the game usable on your screen.
Fix common performance and display problems
- The game runs slowly: The project README says filtering can reduce performance and advises turning it off if a game is too slow.
- Images flicker: The README suggests enabling “Immediate processing mode” as a possible fix.
- The game will not run: Check the project’s compatibility and bug lists. A title may be unsupported or have a known issue; the store’s broad support statement does not guarantee compatibility with that game.
