Start with the tablet’s exact model number and regional variant. Galaxy Tab storage limits and keyboard-cover compatibility differ by model, and Samsung notes that specifications can vary by region. Check Samsung’s current specifications before choosing a microSD card or keyboard accessory.
Identify your exact Galaxy Tab model first
“Galaxy Tab” covers several product families and generations, so the series name alone is not enough to choose accessories. Find the full model name and number in the tablet’s settings or on its product packaging, then use the specification page for that model and your market.
Samsung’s UK memory-card compatibility table lists model-specific capacities and says specifications may differ by region. Treat it as guidance for the UK and Ireland, not as a universal list. Confirm the current local specification for your tablet before buying.

Choose a microSD card for the tablet and your files
First confirm that your exact model supports microSD, then check its published capacity ceiling. Do not assume that a limit listed for one Galaxy Tab applies to another.

Capacity is only part of the choice. Samsung describes microSDXC as suitable for high-resolution video because of its capacity and read/write speed. For less demanding still-photo use, a regular microSD or microSDHC card may be enough. Choose a card type and speed that your tablet supports and that fits the files you plan to store; the cited guidance does not establish one speed class as right for every user.
Check what you need the card to do
- For large video files: Check that the tablet supports the card format and capacity, then consider microSDXC for its capacity and read/write-speed characteristics.
- For photos and lighter storage needs: A lower-capacity card may be adequate; Samsung says regular microSD or microSDHC can suffice for less demanding still photography.
- Before ordering: Compare the card’s stated capacity with the maximum listed for your exact model and market.
Match the keyboard to the exact tablet
Samsung lists keyboard covers for selected Galaxy Tab models, not for every tablet in the range. Its US support guide includes Book Cover Keyboard with AI Key or Book Cover Keyboard Slim with AI Key for Tab S10 and S9 series, regular or Slim Keyboard Cover options for Tab A9+, and some Book Cover Keyboards for Tab S8 and S7 series. Samsung also says the Tab A8 does not have a keyboard cover. See Samsung’s keyboard guidance and verify the accessory’s exact model number against your tablet before buying.

Compare the details that affect everyday use
- Compatibility: Check the tablet model and the cover’s supported models, rather than relying on a similar name or screen size.
- Keyboard layout and size: Make sure the layout and dimensions suit how and where you type.
- Cover and stand: Consider whether you want the keyboard integrated into a protective cover and whether its stand positions the tablet as you prefer.
- Connection type: Samsung says its supported POGO-pin keyboard covers connect through the tablet’s special connector and need neither separate power nor Bluetooth. This applies to those connector-based covers; check the details of any other keyboard type separately.
If you are considering a separate Bluetooth keyboard, check its compatibility and connection requirements with the specific tablet and keyboard. The cited Samsung guidance establishes compatibility for the listed Samsung covers, not for every third-party keyboard.
