What games are in Angry Birds Trilogy?
The compilation bundles the original Angry Birds with two themed entries: Angry Birds Seasons, which features seasonal episodes, and Angry Birds Rio, with Rio-themed characters and episodes. These are three separate games collected in one package, rather than a new standalone entry in the series. Activision’s 2013 announcement promoted more than 100 hours of gameplay across the titles and 40 hours of bonus levels; those figures are the publisher’s estimates, not independently measured playtimes.

When did it come out on Wii and Wii U?
The release dates differed by region, not by a different month or year. Activision announced an August 13, 2013 launch for North America. Nintendo UK records August 16, 2013 as the European Wii U release date.

Digit reported the announcement on June 28, 2013, describing the Wii and Wii U compilation and naming its three games. Activision’s July 25 announcement confirmed the planned North American date. The release date is historical; it is not a notice of a current launch.

What does the Wii U GamePad do?
Activision’s marketing described Wii U-specific features: touchscreen aiming with the GamePad, the ability to swap the display between the GamePad and television, and online leaderboards. Nintendo’s UK catalog lists GamePad compatibility. Nintendo Life’s review also describes aiming on the GamePad while the full stage remains visible on the TV; that is the reviewer’s account, not a controlled comparison of versions.
These features are documented for the Wii U version. The available platform details do not establish an equivalent feature set for Wii, so they should not be assumed to apply to both consoles.

Can you still play or buy it on Wii U?
Nintendo UK says purchases of the Wii U version through the eShop ended on March 27, 2023. That notice concerns digital eShop purchases; it does not establish whether physical copies are currently in stock, what they cost, or their condition. To play today, you need compatible Wii or Wii U hardware and a copy for that platform. Check the case or listing carefully for the console version and region, particularly when buying a used copy.
Who published and developed the game?
Nintendo’s catalog names Activision as the publisher. Nintendo Life identifies Rovio Entertainment as the developer. These are different roles: Activision published the console compilation, while Rovio developed it. Activision also listed the game as ESRB “E” (Everyone) in its 2013 announcement.
