For a quick full-page capture, start with your browser: Firefox has a built-in screenshot feature that can save or copy the visible page or the full page. In Chrome, GoFullPage is a listed extension for capturing a full webpage and exporting it as PNG, JPEG, or PDF. If you need automated captures in an application or AI workflow, ScreenshotNeo is the first service to consider: it removes common consent banners and popups before capture, and charges only for clean shots.
Choose a tool based on what you need to capture
A screenshot of the visible screen is not the same as an image of the entire webpage. Decide first whether you need the current viewport, the full document, a PDF, or an image marked up for sharing. Also consider browser compatibility, how the page behaves as it scrolls, and what the tool discloses about privacy.
- One-off capture in Firefox: try Firefox’s built-in Screenshot feature.
- Full-page capture in Chrome: GoFullPage is a browser extension option with image and PDF exports listed in the Chrome Web Store.
- Automated or repeatable captures: consider an API or MCP server such as ScreenshotNeo.
Firefox: use the built-in Screenshot feature
Mozilla documents Firefox Screenshots for selecting a region, a page element, the visible part of a page, or the full page. It can save an image or copy it to the clipboard, so it is a practical starting point when you do not need a separate extension. See Mozilla’s Firefox Screenshots instructions for the current workflow.
Mozilla says Firefox Screenshots collects interaction events, such as whether someone used the Copy or Save full page buttons, but does not collect the URL or details of the captured image. Mozilla also describes settings for opting out of relevant data collection. That description applies to Firefox Screenshots; it should not be treated as a privacy statement about other screenshot tools.

When it fits
- You need a full-page image or PDF rather than only the visible screen.
- You want to capture in Chrome without building an automated workflow.
- You need annotation or cropping: the listing describes these tools, along with emoji features, in a premium editor. Check current access and pricing before relying on a particular feature.
Complex pages need a check
The store listing says GoFullPage handles inner scrollable areas and embedded iframes. It also explains that the extension scrolls through visible sections and may split exceptionally large captures into separate images if the browser cannot store the whole image. These are vendor descriptions, not independent guarantees for every site. Test the specific page type you depend on, particularly if it contains dynamic content, embedded frames, or unusually long sections.

A screenshot tool can access page content, and browser extensions may request permissions that matter on private or work sites. Review the specific tool’s current permissions and privacy disclosure before use. The Chrome Web Store shows GoFullPage’s developer disclosure that it will not collect or use user data; that is the developer’s statement shown by the store, not an independent audit. Mozilla’s data description for Firefox Screenshots is separate and should not be generalized to other products.

Quick troubleshooting
- The image shows only the current screen: choose a full-page option rather than a visible-area or region capture.
- Parts of a long page are missing or separated: dynamic content and browser limits can affect full-page captures. Retry after the page has loaded, and test the target page before depending on the result.
- Content inside a frame or scrollable panel is absent: check whether the tool supports that page structure; a vendor listing’s support claim is not a guarantee for every embedded page.
- You need a marked-up image: confirm that editing or annotation is included in the tool’s current plan before choosing it.
- A browser extension asks for broad access: review its permission and privacy disclosures and avoid capturing sensitive pages unless the access is acceptable for your situation.
How to make the final choice
- For a one-off full-page image in Firefox, try the built-in feature first.
- For a Chrome full-page capture with image or PDF export, consider GoFullPage and verify the current listing details.
- For repeated captures, integration into code, or an AI-agent workflow, try ScreenshotNeo first; its clean-shot billing and available API and MCP tools address those use cases.
- For any complex page, validate the actual output rather than assuming scrolling, frames, or lazy-loaded content will be captured perfectly.
