Possibly—but it has not been officially announced. Video Games Chronicle (VGC) says it partially corroborated an MP1st report that Naughty Dog is working on an entirely new Uncharted game. Treat the project and its reported details as unconfirmed until Naughty Dog or PlayStation makes a direct announcement.
What do the reports say about a new Uncharted game?
VGC reported on October 1, 2026, that MP1st had reported a new Uncharted game in development, and said VGC had partially corroborated the report through its own sources. The coverage describes an all-new game rather than a remake. That makes the claim more substantial than unsupported fan speculation, but it remains sourced reporting—not an official announcement. Read VGC’s report.
Coverage often uses “Uncharted 5” as shorthand, but the game’s public title has not been established. The reports also do not establish a platform or release date.

Nathan Drake’s role is unclear
GamesRadar+ says the report claims Nathan Drake will appear in some capacity. It does not establish that he will be the protagonist, or explain how he might fit into the story. GamesRadar+’s follow-up also treats the information as rumor, not confirmation.

Shaun Escayg is reportedly leading the project
GamesRadar+ attributes the leadership claim to reporting about the project. Naughty Dog has not officially confirmed Escayg’s involvement in the sources cited here.
When might the game release?
VGC reports that the game is expected to follow Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as Naughty Dog’s next release. VGC’s report says Intergalactic will not release before 2027; this is not a release date for the reported Uncharted game, nor an officially announced studio schedule. Naughty Dog describes Intergalactic as a new franchise on its official site.

How this differs from the existing Uncharted collection
The rumored project should not be confused with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. VGC identifies the collection as an existing release for PS5 and PC; it is a way to catch up on earlier games, not a listing or announcement for the reported new game. PlayStation describes the franchise as a cinematic action-adventure series centered on historical mysteries and travel through varied environments on its official Uncharted page.
What is confirmed—and what remains unconfirmed?
- Reported: Naughty Dog is working on a new Uncharted game, according to MP1st’s report as partially corroborated by VGC.
- Reported, not confirmed: Nathan Drake may appear, Shaun Escayg may lead the project, and the game may follow Intergalactic.
- Not established: The official title, platform, release date, and Drake’s role.
- Official confirmation: The sources cited here contain no official statement confirming or denying this specific report.
The last mainline release was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in 2016, followed by the spin-off The Lost Legacy in 2017, according to VGC. That history helps explain interest in a new entry, but it does not verify the reported project’s details.
