If viewers can’t hear your Larix Broadcaster stream on YouTube Live, first check Android’s microphone permission and device-wide microphone access, then confirm Larix is using the intended audio source. If those checks pass, compare a local recording with YouTube’s live preview and playback to find where the audio disappears. The right fix depends on whether you’re capturing the phone’s microphone, an external input, or sound from another app.

Identify which audio is missing

Before changing settings, distinguish between the person speaking near the phone and sound playing inside another Android app. They use different capture paths: a microphone permission problem can silence ordinary mic input, while Android’s restrictions on capturing other apps’ audio do not explain a silent microphone by themselves.

  • Built-in microphone: The phone’s microphone should capture nearby speech or sound.
  • External microphone or mixer: The phone must recognize the accessory, and Larix must select the intended input.
  • Audio from another app: Android version and the source app’s support for external recording can determine whether Larix can capture it.

Note which source you’re using and whether any local recording has sound. That gives you a baseline for the checks below.

Check Android microphone permission and privacy access

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Larix Broadcaster > Permissions > Microphone and allow microphone access. Android’s app permission controls whether Larix can record audio while it is in use.
  2. Check the device-wide microphone control under Settings > Security & privacy > Privacy controls. Make sure microphone access is enabled.
  3. Return to Larix and make a short test. If either control was disabled, enabling it may restore mic capture.

Android menu names and locations vary by operating-system version and manufacturer. App permission and the device-wide microphone control are separate checks; verify both.

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

Confirm Larix is using the intended audio source

  1. Open Larix Broadcaster and go to Settings > Audio.
  2. Inspect Audio source. For the phone’s built-in mic, select an appropriate built-in source. For an external microphone or mixer, connect it and check that Larix selects that input.
  3. If the input is still not detected, try changing the audio source setting. Larix’s Google Play developer guidance also suggests that some external devices may need a higher sample rate, such as 48000. This is a troubleshooting suggestion, not a universal requirement.
  4. Change one setting at a time, then make a short test so you can tell whether it helped.

The Google Play listing for Larix Broadcaster showed an update date of Aug. 11, 2026, and lists Furtree Systems, Inc. as the developer. App features and setting labels may change, so check the current app controls if they differ from these paths.

For sound playing in another Android app, check the capture limits

Larix’s FAQ says Android 9 or earlier restricts apps from capturing audio played by other apps. On Android 10, media capture works only when the source app supports external recording. For that capture path, Larix documents the control at Audio > Sound settings > Media sounds.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

These limits concern internal or other-app audio, not an ordinary microphone recording. If viewers can’t hear a person speaking near the phone, continue checking microphone permission, privacy access, and the selected input.

If you use an external microphone, headset, or mixer

  • Reconnect the accessory and check that its plug, adapter, and connector type match the phone and input you intend to use.
  • Confirm that the phone recognizes the accessory, then check Larix’s Audio source setting again.
  • If using a mixer line feed, don’t assume that a connector fitting the phone means the phone accepts the signal or Larix has selected it.
  • If you suspect the phone’s input is the problem, a compatible external mic, such as a USB-C lavalier, is an alternative capture device. Check compatibility with your phone before buying; changing microphones will not fix a denied permission or a YouTube-side problem.

A user report on the Larix listing describes a Pixel 3a not always detecting line audio through its headphone jack. Treat that as an individual example of why input detection is worth checking—not as evidence of a general Pixel compatibility issue.

Find out whether the audio disappears before or after YouTube

  1. Make a brief test stream and check whether Larix indicates audio activity. If available, listen to a local recording from the same input.
  2. Open the incoming preview in YouTube Live Control Room and listen to the stream from a separate playback device. YouTube recommends setting up connected microphones with the encoder and entering the YouTube Live server URL and stream key in the encoder.
  3. If the local recording is silent, focus on Android permission and privacy controls, Larix’s selected source, and whether the phone recognizes the input.
  4. If the local recording has sound but the YouTube playback does not, check the encoder’s audio routing and the stream connection settings, including the YouTube server URL and stream key.

This comparison is a practical way to isolate capture from stream output; YouTube’s encoder instructions do not provide a Larix-specific audio-meter diagnosis.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is not a microphone troubleshooting tool: it plays uploaded videos on a YouTube channel rather than going live from a phone camera or mic. If your goal is instead to keep uploaded video running as a 24/7 YouTube stream, you can upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home; it accepts uploads as made up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and offers the first day free with no card.
