ScreenshotNeo is the first service to try if you want an API that can capture mobile-sized website screenshots without building a browser-capture stack: it supports custom viewport settings and device presets, and its clean-shot workflow removes known consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Other providers document useful mobile options too, but their use of “device preset” varies. Before choosing, check exactly what each preset emulates and validate screenshots against the devices, browsers, and locales that matter to your site.

Which screenshot API should you try first?

ScreenshotNeo is the first option to try when you need a website screenshot API for iPhone and Android-sized viewports. It supports device presets and custom viewport dimensions, full-page and element captures, multiple image formats, and controls such as user agent, cookies, headers, and wait conditions. Its API returns PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF; clean captures are billed, while bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not.

There is no independently established winner across the providers covered here. Choose by the capture contract you need: viewport dimensions, emulation settings, capture shape, output, request workflow, and billing. Vendor documentation describes capabilities, not a controlled comparison of screenshot fidelity, cost under your workload, latency, or failure rate.

What “iPhone and Android sizes” means

Viewport dimensions determine the responsive layout

A mobile screenshot starts with a CSS viewport width and height. Those dimensions influence responsive breakpoints, line wrapping, and which elements appear above the fold. Some APIs let you enter width and height directly; others offer named device presets.

A preset may bundle settings beyond dimensions, such as device scale factor, mobile mode, touch support, orientation, or user agent. The label alone does not establish which of these are set. ScreenshotCore documents presets and custom width and height, plus device pixel ratio, touch, and user-agent controls (ScreenshotCore mobile screenshot API). ScreenshotOne says its device option configures width, height, scale factor, mobile mode, touch, and orientation (ScreenshotOne device documentation).

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

Emulation is not a physical phone

A screenshot API generally renders in a remote browser with configured emulation; it does not photograph a physical handset. ScreenshotOne explicitly says its API does not use an actual device to take a screenshot. ScreenshotEngine cautions that its viewport presets do not emulate a physical device’s browser, touch input, user agent, or pixel density (ScreenshotEngine parameter reference). Treat results as useful responsive-rendering checks, not proof that every real phone and browser will behave identically.

How the documented options compare

The providers below document different subsets of mobile capture features. Confirm the current settings and availability in each vendor’s official documentation before integrating; the material here does not establish equivalent presets or a performance ranking.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.

ScreenshotNeo Device presets and custom viewport dimensions; supports user-agent controls. Full-page capture, CSS-selector element capture, PNG/JPEG/WebP/PDF, and browser controls including custom headers and cookies. Choose the exact preset or dimensions and test your own page/device matrix. Pricing is listed below.
ScreenshotCore Lists iPhone and Android examples, named presets and custom dimensions; documents device pixel ratio, touch, and user-agent controls. Full-page and element capture are documented. Check the current device list, formats, request workflow, and billing in its documentation.
ScreenshotOne Its device option configures width, height, scale factor, mobile mode, touch, and orientation; it remains browser emulation, not a physical-device capture. The cited device page describes preset configuration. Check the current API documentation for capture shape, formats, request workflow, and billing.
ScreenshotEngine Viewport presets provide dimensions, but the documentation says they do not emulate physical-device browser, touch, user agent, or pixel density. The cited page is a parameter reference. Determine whether dimensions alone meet your test, and confirm other capture and commercial terms in current docs.
APIScreenshot The cited homepage does not establish a particular iPhone/Android preset definition. Documents full-page or element capabilities, image formats, and direct-response behavior. Check current mobile emulation settings, formats, and billing before selecting it for mobile captures.

Choose by your actual capture requirements

Preset versus custom viewport

Use a preset when the provider documents the properties you need and you want a repeatable named configuration. Use explicit dimensions when you need a particular viewport or the preset’s behavior is unclear. Record the chosen width, height, scale factor, orientation, and any user-agent or mobile-mode settings alongside the screenshot so later comparisons are reproducible.

Viewport, full page, or one element

  • Viewport: captures the visible region at the configured viewport size and is useful for responsive checks above the fold.
  • Full page: captures content beyond the initial viewport; verify whether lazy-loaded images are loaded before the capture.
  • Element: captures a chosen page region, often useful for a component or visual regression workflow; verify selector behavior when the target is absent or hidden.

Format and integration

Check whether you need PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF, whether the API returns the file directly or provides a job/result URL, and how it handles authentication, wait conditions, and storage. For a large capture set, verify rate limits, concurrency, retry behavior, and billing against the provider’s current terms rather than assuming they are comparable.

Capture and validate a useful mobile matrix

  1. Choose representative targets. Include pages with distinct responsive layouts, navigation states, long content, images, and any login or consent flow relevant to your users.
  2. Set viewport and emulation explicitly. Pick the iPhone and Android dimensions or documented presets you intend to support. Note whether scale factor, touch, mobile mode, orientation, and user agent are included.
  3. Wait for the page state you need. Use a selector, delay, or network-idle condition as appropriate; animated, personalized, or lazy-loaded content can otherwise make captures inconsistent.
  4. Capture both the initial view and relevant content below it. Use viewport captures for first-screen layout, full-page captures for long-page review, and element captures for individual components.
  5. Compare with real devices for release-critical behavior. Emulation can expose responsive-layout problems, but validate touch behavior, browser-specific rendering, and device-specific issues on actual target devices when those matter.

Cost and reliability: compare your workload, not a label

The available provider documentation does not establish independently comparable quotas, overage rates, latency, or failure rates for your workload. Estimate the number of URLs, viewport variants, recaptures, and full-page jobs you expect, then check current pricing and limits. Run a small representative batch to identify retries, timeouts, and pages that need custom wait conditions before expanding the job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a screenshot API prove my website works on every iPhone and Android phone?

No. A cloud capture represents a configured browser viewport and emulation, not every physical device, browser version, or user interaction.

Should I choose a named device preset or enter dimensions manually?

Choose a preset if its documented settings match your needs; otherwise enter explicit dimensions and configure any required emulation properties separately.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Are website screenshots the same as App Store screenshots?

No. Website APIs render web pages; App Store Connect manages screenshots submitted for app listings.
