To take daily screenshots of many websites, you need two pieces: a daily trigger and a workflow that sends each URL to a screenshot service and saves the result. Choose a managed service or no-code integration for a quick setup; use a scheduled job, queue, and screenshot API when you need more control over retries, storage, and rendering.

Choose a workflow that fits your URL list

Approach How URLs enter Daily trigger Best fit
Managed recurring capture Paste URLs or import a CSV in Urlbox CaptureDeck Configured in the product Teams that want recurring captures and downloadable reports without building a capture service
No-code integration Urlbox workflow with a schedule trigger in Zapier; the documented example saves screenshots to Google Drive Zapier schedule People comfortable configuring an integration but not writing a scheduled capture program
API workflow Submit a URL list to a screenshot API, such as ScreenshotOne’s bulk endpoint Your scheduler or job runner Developers who need control over job processing, retries, storage, or rendering settings

Urlbox describes CaptureDeck as accepting pasted URLs or CSV imports and scheduling recurring captures: CaptureDeck product page. Urlbox also documents a Zapier route for scheduling screenshots hourly, daily, weekly, or at a specified time, with Google Drive as the example destination: Automate website screenshots on a schedule. Confirm destinations, plan limits, and retention in your account before relying on them.

Set up recurring screenshots without writing code

Use a managed URL-list workflow

  1. Prepare the URLs you want captured. CaptureDeck describes both pasting a list and importing a CSV.
  2. Configure the recurring capture schedule in the service and select the list or imported file.
  3. Check where captures, reports, and downloadable archives are available, and confirm the retention and volume limits for your account.
  4. Run a small representative set first. Inspect pages with consent banners, popups, dynamic content, or login requirements to make sure the output is useful for your purpose.

Urlbox documents URL lists from Google Sheets and Airtable as well; see its documentation for current details. The available setup and storage destinations can depend on account settings, so verify them before scheduling a large run.

Schedule Urlbox captures with Zapier

  1. Create or maintain the list of URLs you want captured.
  2. In Zapier, create a workflow using a Schedule trigger and choose the daily timing you need.
  3. Add Urlbox as the capture step and map the URL and any available capture settings.
  4. Add a destination step. Urlbox’s guide demonstrates saving captures to Google Drive; check the current integration and account configuration for your intended destination.
  5. Test the workflow with a few URLs, then enable the schedule. Check that the trigger runs and that each expected file is actually present.

The documented guide lists a Urlbox account and a Zapier account as prerequisites, with a Google account optional for its Drive example. See Urlbox’s scheduling guide for its current setup instructions.

Build a daily URL-list capture workflow with an API

An API does not necessarily run itself every day. Your scheduler starts the work; your code reads or loads the URL list, submits capture requests, handles failures, and stores the results. ScreenshotOne documents a bulk endpoint for multiple URLs, but its bulk documentation does not prescribe a daily scheduler. Use a cron job, cloud scheduler, or your existing job runner as the separate trigger.

Implementation plan

  1. Keep the URL list in a maintained file, database, or other source your scheduled job can read.
  2. At the scheduled time, enqueue capture jobs in batches rather than assuming all URLs should be sent simultaneously.
  3. Submit batches to the API’s documented bulk endpoint and follow its request and response format.
  4. Persist each result or returned screenshot link to your destination, associating it with the URL and capture time.
  5. Retry failed captures with a limit and record permanent failures for review. For work that must survive restarts or multiple workers, use a durable queue.
  6. Compare completed jobs with the input list so a successful schedule trigger is not mistaken for a complete capture run.

ScreenshotOne’s Bulk Screenshots documentation describes the bulk endpoint and says bulk requests use the same one-minute request bucket as regular screenshot requests. Its guidance also recommends batching, retrying failed requests, and checking the usage endpoint’s concurrency remaining and reset values: How to take screenshots of multiple URLs. Pace submissions against those limits; bulk does not mean unlimited simultaneous throughput.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A single GET request captures a URL as an image or PDF. For a first test, install Python’s requests package, set your API key, and run:

import requests

r = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
    timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for the request parameters and options. To schedule a list daily, put this request in a job that reads each URL from your list, runs from your scheduler, and saves each output with a filename or record tied to its URL and date. Add a queue and retry policy when the run must withstand failures.

Plan storage, validation, and reliability

Choose an output destination deliberately

Decide whether the workflow should save image files, retain downloadable archives, or store links and metadata. Urlbox’s scheduling guide illustrates Google Drive, and CaptureDeck describes reports and downloadable archives; check the current product details for your chosen plan. For API workflows, choose storage that fits access controls and retention requirements, especially when pages contain account-specific or sensitive content.

Check what the image actually captured

Dynamic page content, cookie consent, login walls, viewport size, and rendering options can all affect the result. Validate representative URLs before relying on daily output, and include a way to spot missing or unexpected captures. A scheduler can successfully run even when a website fails to load or its content changes.

Troubleshoot incomplete or missing captures

Symptom Likely cause What to check
No images were produced The scheduled trigger did not run, or the workflow failed before capture Inspect the scheduler’s run history, integration task status, and API job logs.
Some URLs are missing Partial batch failure, rate limiting, or an incomplete input list Compare output records against the source list; retry failed URLs and pace batches against the API’s usage limits.
Image is blank or unexpected Page load failure, bot check, consent UI, login requirement, or dynamic rendering Open the URL in the relevant browser context, review capture settings, and test representative pages manually.
Files are hard to identify later Output naming or metadata does not preserve URL and capture date Use a consistent naming convention or store the URL, timestamp, and file location together in a manifest.
Daily runs fall behind Too many jobs are being submitted at once or work is not durable Batch and pace requests, monitor remaining concurrency and reset values where available, and use persistent queue storage for multi-worker or restart-safe processing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a bulk screenshot API automatically schedule a daily run?

Not necessarily. ScreenshotOne’s bulk endpoint handles multi-URL capture; the cited bulk documentation does not define a built-in daily schedule, so provide a separate scheduler.

Can I use a CSV or spreadsheet as the URL source?

Urlbox CaptureDeck describes CSV import and pasted URL lists. Urlbox documentation also mentions URL lists from Google Sheets and Airtable; confirm current support in its documentation.

Are scheduled screenshots suitable as legal or compliance evidence?

The product sources cited here do not establish legal admissibility, provenance guarantees, or compliance sufficiency. Those requirements need separate evaluation.
