DocRaptor can generate PDFs synchronously or as asynchronous jobs, but its published limits do not translate into a guaranteed PDFs-per-minute rate. The documented defaults are a 60-second synchronous generation window, a 10-minute asynchronous window, and 30 simultaneous requests. For bulk work, use async jobs for renders that may exceed a minute, cap parallel submissions to the account’s confirmed concurrency limit, and benchmark your own templates and assets.

DocRaptor’s published limits

DocRaptor’s limits documentation says it does not impose hard limits on page count, document complexity, input size, or output size for ordinary PDF generation. Hosted documents are the exception: the documented hosted-output limit is 100 MB. Document volume during a billing period is determined by the plan. These are vendor-published terms, not a throughput guarantee. DocRaptor API limits

Limit or allowance Published value or policy What it means for bulk jobs
Synchronous generation time 1 minute by default A request that does not finish within the synchronous window may not return a PDF response in time.
Asynchronous generation time 10 minutes Async extends the render window and returns a job identifier to check later; it does not guarantee completion throughput.
Simultaneous requests 30 by default Confirm the limit on your account. DocRaptor says it often increases this for larger customers.
Hosted-document output size 100 MB This applies to hosted documents, not as a general output-size cap for non-hosted PDF generation.
Monthly document volume Plan-defined Check your current plan quota and overage terms before estimating recurring batch costs.

The documentation reviewed does not establish a universal requests-per-minute rate, a guaranteed bulk queue, or a PDFs-per-minute benchmark. It describes simple documents as sometimes taking seconds and more complex documents with external resources or scripts as taking several minutes, which is qualitative guidance rather than a capacity promise. DocRaptor API limits

Choose synchronous or asynchronous generation

Mode Time window Initial response Completion handling Use it when
Synchronous 60 seconds by default The PDF response Handle the result or error in the request flow. The render reliably finishes within the limit and your caller can wait for the PDF.
Asynchronous Up to 600 seconds A status_id Poll the authenticated status endpoint or register a callback, then handle success and failure explicitly. Renders may run longer than a minute or the caller should not stay open awaiting completion.

For async creation, DocRaptor documents polling the authenticated /status/{status_id} endpoint or providing a callback URL. A generation error does not invoke the success callback, so do not treat the absence of a callback as proof that a job is complete. Record each returned ID and make your own status processing idempotent so retries or repeated notifications do not create duplicate downstream work. Asynchronous Document Creation · API Reference

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Async changes the interaction pattern and the allowed render window; it does not remove concurrency constraints or establish a completion-time SLA. Choose based on the expected render duration and the needs of the calling application, not on an assumption that async automatically makes a batch faster.

Control parallel bulk work

Use 30 simultaneous requests as the published default, not an assured target for every account. DocRaptor says it often increases this limit for larger customers, so ask support or check account-specific terms before launching a batch that depends on a higher ceiling. The documentation reviewed does not give a general requests-per-minute limit or prescribe a retry interval. DocRaptor API limits

  1. Submit jobs through a client-side concurrency cap set no higher than the account limit you have confirmed.
  2. Persist each async job’s status_id alongside your source record so you can resume collection after an application restart.
  3. Collect completion through polling or callbacks, recording terminal successes and failures separately.
  4. Use a retry/backoff policy for transient failures that suits your application; treat that as your own operational design, not a DocRaptor-mandated schedule.
  5. Increase batch size gradually while watching render duration, failures, and monthly quota consumption for representative documents.

Separating submission from completion collection is useful when a batch is large, but it is an implementation pattern inferred from the documented async workflow—not a vendor-required architecture. Asynchronous Document Creation

Reduce avoidable rendering time

DocRaptor identifies external asset requests as a common slow part of PDF generation. Its official suggestions target those requests and unnecessary rendering work; apply them selectively and measure the result with representative documents. Asset speed optimization

  • Inline CSS and JavaScript where appropriate to reduce external fetches.
  • Embed images as data URIs when practical, and reduce asset sizes.
  • Remove assets that are unused in the rendered document.
  • Disable JavaScript processing if the document does not need it.
  • Remove the test flag for production jobs.
  • When feasible, host assets in the United States; DocRaptor says its service runs in AWS East.

For hosts with strict rate limiting, the API exposes prince_options[no_parallel_downloads]. The API reference also documents a default external-resource timeout of 10 seconds, configurable up to 60 seconds. These settings concern asset fetching; they are not substitutes for the synchronous or asynchronous generation windows. API Reference

If tuning still does not make a document reliably fit the synchronous limit, use async rather than assuming asset changes will solve every long render. DocRaptor does not publish a performance benchmark that predicts how a particular template will behave.

Plan for quotas, overages, and hosted PDFs

Monthly document allowances are plan-specific. DocRaptor’s overage documentation describes charges above a plan’s quota, but prices can change; check the live plan and overage terms when forecasting costs instead of relying on a rate copied into an older estimate. How overage works · API limits

The API reference describes test documents as unlimited on all plans and not counted toward monthly limits; test PDFs are watermarked, and hosted test documents have special restrictions. Verify current terms before using test mode as part of a production-volume estimate. Hosted documents are a paid add-on with separate limits and billing behavior. The API supports download and expiration controls; use them when the duration or volume of public access matters to your cost or exposure. API Reference

Check the rendering pipeline before changing it

DocRaptor’s API reference identifies pipeline 10.1 as the default and maps it to Prince 15.1 and JavaScript engine 2. It lists pipeline versions 6, 7, 8, 9, 9.2, 10, and 10.1. These mappings were documented as accessed on October 3, 2026; confirm the current reference before relying on them. Test a newer pipeline with the request parameter and representative documents before changing the dashboard default, because a pipeline change can affect output. API Reference

Estimate capacity with your own workload

Because there is no published PDFs-per-minute figure, estimate capacity from measured jobs in the intended account and environment rather than extrapolating from the concurrency number. Include the document characteristics that drive work: page count, CSS and JavaScript, external resources, image weight, and variation among templates. Record render duration and success or failure outcomes across representative batches, then size the concurrency cap and monthly volume against those observations.

  • Benchmark simple and complex templates separately; a single average can conceal long-running outliers.
  • Test external assets under the same hosting and access conditions expected in production.
  • Include async completion collection and error handling in the measurement, not just job submission time.
  • Recheck account concurrency and current quota before a large or recurring batch.

Troubleshooting common bulk-generation problems

A synchronous request does not return within a minute

The synchronous default is 60 seconds. Switch long-running work to async, then check the returned status_id through the authenticated status endpoint or a callback. If the delay is driven by asset fetching, apply the asset optimizations above. Async creation · Asset speed optimization

A job seems stuck because no callback arrived

A generation error does not call the success callback. Query the authenticated status endpoint and handle explicit failure states rather than interpreting callback silence as success or as proof the job is still running. Asynchronous Document Creation

Asset-heavy PDFs take longer than expected

Reduce external requests and unused assets, compress or otherwise trim assets, and avoid JavaScript processing when it is unnecessary. If the asset host rate-limits concurrent fetches, consider prince_options[no_parallel_downloads]; if resources need more time to load, review the external-resource timeout setting separately from the overall generation limit. Asset speed optimization · API Reference

A batch runs into concurrency pressure

Reduce your client-side parallel submissions to the account’s confirmed simultaneous-request limit and collect async completions separately. The documented default is 30, but a different account limit may apply. The reviewed documentation does not state a universal requests-per-minute allowance. API limits

A PDF exceeds a hosted-document limit

The 100 MB published output limit applies to hosted documents. For hosted output, review the separate add-on terms and consider the documented download and expiration controls. It is not a general output-size ceiling for ordinary non-hosted generation. API limits · API Reference
