Call page.setJavaScriptEnabled(false) before navigating to the page you want to capture. The setting takes effect on the next navigation; it does not undo scripts that have already run. Then use page.screenshot() to save the image.
Disable JavaScript before navigating
This complete example saves a viewport screenshot as a PNG:

}Set the option before page.goto() for the navigation you intend to capture. Puppeteer documents that changing JavaScript enablement does not affect scripts that have already run and takes full effect on the next navigation (Page.setJavaScriptEnabled()).
Choose what to capture and how to save it
Viewport, full page, or a region
By default, page.screenshot() captures the viewport. To capture the full document, pass fullPage: true. To capture a defined area instead, provide a clip rectangle.

File, bytes, or base64
Set path to write the image to disk. Without a path, the method returns image data as a Uint8Array; use encoding: 'base64' to receive a base64 string instead. When you omit type, the documented default is PNG. If a path is supplied without an explicit type, Puppeteer infers the format from its file extension.

You can select an image type. The quality option applies to supported lossy formats, not PNG. Set omitBackground: true when you need to omit the default white background and allow transparency.
What to expect when JavaScript is off
Disabling scripts can leave out content or interactions that a site creates on the client. The actual image still depends on the HTML, stylesheets, images, and other resources the page serves and the browser loads. If the result must match a particular visual target, inspect the captured output rather than assuming every site will render the same way without scripts.

Troubleshooting
- The screenshot still shows script-generated content: The setting may have been applied after navigation. Set it before navigating, then reload or navigate again; the change does not reverse scripts that already ran.
- Expected content is missing: A page may rely on JavaScript to create content or interactions. With scripts disabled, that content may not appear; compare the result with the page’s underlying non-script content.
- The image only shows the visible viewport: Add
fullPage: trueif you need the full document. The default is a viewport screenshot. - The output format is unexpected: Check the requested
typeand, when relying on extension-based inference, the filename extension. PNG is the documented default when no type is selected.
