There is no special BSNL or Jio router profile that guarantees a 24/7 YouTube stream from a Windows PC. For the best chance of a stable broadcast, connect the PC to the router by Ethernet, choose OBS settings that fit your sustained upload speed, test the complete stream, and monitor YouTube’s stream health. A static IP or port forwarding is not a routine requirement for sending an OBS stream out to YouTube.
Use settings that match your connection
Your encoder sends video from your PC to YouTube’s ingest service. The important settings are the output bitrate, resolution, frame rate, keyframe interval, and connection protocol—not a universal BSNL- or Jio-specific router preset.
Measure sustained upload before choosing a bitrate
YouTube recommends running a speed test to check upload bitrate. Measure at the Windows PC and, ideally, over Ethernet. A single speed-test result is only a snapshot: repeat tests at different times and observe whether upload remains stable while other household devices are active. The plan’s advertised download speed does not establish the upload capacity or continuity available at your address.
Set the stream bitrate below the upload rate the connection can reliably sustain, leaving room for audio, other household traffic, and variation. OBS suggests 75% of total upload as a starting point in its connection troubleshooting guidance; it is not a guarantee or a universal rule. If the connection fluctuates or frames are dropping, reduce bitrate or resolution and retest rather than targeting the highest possible quality.

YouTube H.264 bitrate recommendations
The following are YouTube’s published H.264 encoder recommendations, not a promise that a particular BSNL or Jio plan can sustain them continuously:

Choose an output your connection can hold steadily. If the stream is unstable at 1080p, lowering the resolution and bitrate is generally more useful than changing unrelated router options.

Encoder and ingest settings
- Rate control: Use constant bitrate (CBR), as YouTube recommends.
- Keyframe interval: Set 2 seconds; YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds.
- Protocol: Use RTMPS if your encoder supports it. Google describes RTMPS as RTMP carried over an SSL connection, and YouTube recommends it to encrypt data sent to Google’s servers.
- Codec: YouTube’s encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1. The bitrate table above is specifically for H.264.
- Test content: Test with movement and audio similar to the intended broadcast, then check YouTube’s stream health and messages.
Improve the Windows PC’s connection to the router
Prefer Ethernet
Connect the Windows computer directly to the router with an Ethernet cable when feasible. OBS warns that Wi-Fi may be unstable for streaming and recommends a wired connection; Jio’s support guidance likewise describes wired LAN as faster and more stable than Wi-Fi for streaming. Use a cable long enough to reach the router without straining the connectors. Ethernet can reduce local wireless variability, but it cannot fix an ISP-side outage or congestion.
Keep router changes conservative
For a wired encoder PC, no unusual Wi-Fi setting is needed. Jio’s general guidance recommends managing the router through MyJio and securing Wi-Fi credentials; those are security practices, not settings that optimize a wired YouTube stream. Do not disable the router firewall or make server-hosting changes just to stream outbound video.

Do you need a BSNL or Jio static IP or port forwarding?
Ordinarily, no. OBS sends encoded data outbound to YouTube’s ingest service, so the available evidence does not establish a static IP or inbound port forwarding as a prerequisite for a routine YouTube live stream.
The BSNL Kolkata document titled “Static IP and server configuration” discusses modem-side virtual servers for services such as FTP and HTTP and for hosting servers. That is a different use case; its instructions do not show that a Windows PC needs a static IP, a disabled firewall, or port forwarding to stream to YouTube. Jio’s consumer support material covers wired LAN and device security, not a model-independent router profile for 24/7 YouTube streaming. JioBusiness information about static IPv4 and port forwarding concerns a distinct business offering, not a demonstrated need for residential streamers.

Set up and test OBS with YouTube
- Connect the PC by Ethernet. Confirm Windows has an internet connection through the router before opening OBS.
- Measure upload and choose a conservative output. Use a bitrate your connection sustains, with headroom for audio and other traffic. Start below the connection’s observed stable capacity if performance varies.
- Configure the encoder. In OBS, select an available H.264 encoder and set rate control to CBR, the chosen bitrate, and a 2-second keyframe interval. Choose a resolution and frame rate whose YouTube recommendation is compatible with your upload.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Use YouTube’s live-stream setup to obtain the stream key and enter it in OBS’s stream configuration. Keep the key private; anyone with access may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Use RTMPS when available. Select YouTube’s RTMPS ingest option in the encoder if supported.
- Run a representative test. Include the motion and audio expected in the real stream, then check YouTube’s stream health and any warnings before relying on the setup.
- Observe a long enough run. A short test cannot establish uninterrupted 24/7 operation. Watch for dropped frames, disconnects, and changing upload conditions during a representative period.
Troubleshoot dropped frames and disconnects

OBS offers dynamic bitrate and Windows network optimization, including TCP pacing, as troubleshooting options. Dynamic bitrate may reduce quality and does not fix the underlying connection problem. Treat these as mitigations to test after checking Ethernet and a sustainable bitrate, not substitutes for a stable internet path. A special DNS, MTU, static-IP, or port-forwarding change is not the first-line response to ordinary outbound stream problems.
