Microlink’s documented screenshot flow returns a screenshot asset URL and image metadata; it does not document writing the screenshot directly to your S3 bucket. To save a capture in your bucket, request the screenshot from Microlink, fetch the returned asset on a trusted server, then upload its bytes to S3 with an object key of your choice.
How the Microlink-to-S3 workflow works
Microlink generates the screenshot; your application handles the transfer and storage. Microlink describes its screenshot parameter as generating a screenshot over the target URL, and its response example includes an asset URL plus image metadata. Its comparison page does not list native upload to your own storage as part of that flow. Microlink screenshot documentation · Microlink comparison page
- Send Microlink a request for the target page with screenshot enabled.
- Read the screenshot asset URL from the API response.
- Fetch that URL from your backend or another trusted application component and read the response bytes.
- Upload those bytes to S3 using a bucket name and object key.
The fetch-and-upload steps connect two documented interfaces: Microlink’s screenshot asset output and AWS’s S3 object upload operation. Confirm the precise response fields and content type for the Microlink options you use.
Runnable Node.js example
This example uses Microlink’s API to request a screenshot, then fetches the returned asset and sends it to S3 with AWS SDK for JavaScript v3. Set the environment variables before running it. The precise Microlink request and response fields can depend on the options and account setup, so check the screenshot documentation for the request shape you use.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Install the AWS client package with npm install @aws-sdk/client-s3. AWS SDK credentials and region should be provided through the standard trusted server environment or role configuration for your deployment, not hard-coded in this script. The S3 operation shown is AWS SDK v3’s PutObjectCommand, which accepts a bucket, key, and body. AWS PutObject examples
Choose the S3 key and access behavior
Object key
An S3 object is identified by its bucket and key. Choose a deterministic key if each new capture should replace the same stored object, or include a timestamp or unique identifier when you need to retain separate captures. Make the naming and retention behavior an explicit application decision.

Privacy and delivery
Do not assume Microlink’s returned asset URL is a permanent URL for your S3 object. Decide whether the uploaded object remains private or is made available through a controlled application or CDN path. Keep credentials out of browser code and public URLs; grant the server-side upload identity only the permissions needed for the chosen bucket workflow.
Failure handling, reliability, and cost
Treat the capture request, asset retrieval, and S3 upload as separate failure points. Check HTTP status at both fetch boundaries, validate that the screenshot URL exists, and surface S3 errors rather than reporting success prematurely. AWS’s PutObject examples discuss service errors, including oversized-object conditions. Add retries only where appropriate for your application, and make retries safe for your key strategy: reusing a deterministic key overwrites the same object, while unique keys can create additional retained objects.

Microlink’s plan limits, prices, and availability can change; verify current details on its API page before estimating capture costs. This integration also stores an object in your AWS account, so consider the applicable S3 storage and request costs for your workload; no total cost can be inferred without your region, volume, retention, and access pattern.
