For the lowest published entry price and a small free allowance, ScreenshotOne is the better starting point; Urlbox offers more listed tiers, including business and enterprise options. Their plans package capacity and features differently, so compare the tier you would actually use—not just the starting price. Neither vendor’s published pages establish a controlled winner for screenshot quality or render speed.
Prices and plan details below reflect vendor pages accessed in 2026 and can change. Both vendors list prices excluding VAT.

At higher volumes
Do not compare a price without its included capacity: ScreenshotOne Growth is $79 for 10,000 screenshots, while Urlbox Ultra is $99 for 15,000 renders. Urlbox lists Business at $498/month with a $495 base plus $3 per 1,000 renders, and Enterprise from $3,000/month; the cited pricing description does not state a fixed included render quota for those two options. Ask the vendor to confirm projected total charges and included capacity for your usage.
Estimate billable workload, not just requested URLs
Start with expected unique, successful captures in a billing month, then account for retries, cache behavior and overages under the provider’s definition. A page that your application requests is not necessarily a new billed render, and the providers describe failures and caching differently. Avoid treating headline quota as a guaranteed count of every attempted request.
Request limits are not speed benchmarks
The listed requests-per-minute numbers are throughput caps for plan tiers, not measurements of how long a page takes to render or how reliably the service completes a capture. Urlbox lists 30 to 1,000 requests per minute across Lo-Fi through Business; ScreenshotOne lists 40 to 150 across its paid tiers. These figures alone do not show which API is faster. Test your own representative pages and concurrency pattern if latency matters, and confirm any applicable rate-limit behavior with the vendor.

How failed renders and caching affect cost
ScreenshotOne
ScreenshotOne says screenshots that fail with HTTP, browser or network errors do not count. It also warns that visual issues may still count. A cache miss can trigger a new render and count against quota. If your pages change often or your capture parameters vary, estimate how often requests will actually hit cache. See ScreenshotOne’s billing terms on its pricing page.
Urlbox
Urlbox’s pricing FAQ defines a successful render as “one that results in an image being returned to you.” That definition is narrower and more specific than a general promise that all failures are free; check the FAQ and plan terms for how your output type and failure case are counted. The cited pricing information does not establish matching cache-billing conditions for a direct comparison. See Urlbox’s pricing FAQ.
Which API should you choose?
Choose ScreenshotOne if
- You want the lower published paid entry price at 2,000 captures per month.
- A 100-per-month free allowance is useful for a small workload or initial evaluation.
- The options listed for your needed tier—such as location selection, video, GPU rendering or priority support—match your requirements.
Choose Urlbox if
- You need to evaluate a broader published tier range, including Business and Enterprise options.
- Your decision depends on features in its tiered matrix, such as support, storage, privacy or business controls.
- You want to assess the listed trial availability for an eligible self-service tier.
Evaluate ScreenshotNeo as an alternative
If clean captures and explicit outcome-based billing matter, evaluate ScreenshotNeo alongside both services. It removes cookie/consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, with response headers reporting the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server offers screenshot and PDF tools for AI clients, and its free plan includes 1,000 shots monthly without a card. All features are on every plan.
Check these requirements before committing
- Output: confirm image formats, PDF or video support on the specific tier you are considering.
- Capture behavior: verify full-page, scrolling, element-level, responsive or structured-data needs against the vendor’s documented options.
- Throughput: compare the plan’s request cap with your peak concurrency; do not infer latency from requests per minute.
- Failure and cache billing: model what the provider counts as successful, how cache misses work and whether visual errors are billable.
- Operations: check support, SLA, privacy, storage integrations, timeout and file-size limits against your production requirements.
- Taxes and term: prices cited here exclude VAT; check how annual billing, overages and any regional taxes affect the quote.
Do either vendor’s pages prove a quality or reliability winner?
No. The vendor pages reviewed describe features and pricing but do not establish a controlled head-to-head comparison of output quality, render speed or reliability. Urlbox’s product page reports 800M+ screenshots rendered for over 1,700 customers, a vendor-published scale claim accessed in 2026—not an independent comparative performance measure. For a production decision, test the same set of representative URLs with equivalent viewport, wait conditions, output and capture settings. Include dynamic pages, consent prompts, long-loading pages and any authentication or geographic cases relevant to your application; record successful outputs, timing and billing outcomes rather than treating marketing feature counts as a benchmark.
