What’s actually slowing this PC down?

There is no Safari screenshot API established by the official documentation reviewed here. ScreenshotOne, Urlbox, and Browserless document hosted screenshot services, but their cited documentation does not identify Safari or WebKit as the rendering engine. If Safari-specific rendering matters, shot-scraper documents WebKit as a browser choice; verify the runtime and test your pages before relying on it. A Safari-like user agent or viewport alone does not prove Safari rendering.
What “capturing websites in Safari” actually requires
A screenshot service and a browser engine are separate choices. A service may offer a screenshot endpoint, control the viewport, or set a user agent without rendering the page in Safari or WebKit. The reviewed documentation for ScreenshotOne, Urlbox, and Browserless describes capture features but does not establish Safari/WebKit execution.
If the requirement is specifically Safari behavior, ask the vendor to identify the actual browser engine and version used for rendering. Then test representative pages, since browser-dependent layout, fonts, media, and scripts can affect the result. Do not infer engine support from a Safari user-agent string, device preset, or viewport dimensions.
Options supported by the reviewed documentation
The following comparison describes documented capture capabilities, not a ranking of Safari-compatible hosted APIs. None of the hosted API documentation cited here establishes Safari/WebKit rendering.

| Option | Documented capture features | Safari/WebKit evidence |
|---|---|---|
| ScreenshotNeo | GET API returning PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF; controls include full-page and element capture, viewport/device settings, waits, and custom CSS or JavaScript. See the documentation. | Safari/WebKit execution is not established by the product facts available here. |
| ScreenshotOne | Selector capture, output-format controls, image sizing, and rendering emulations such as dark mode and reduced motion, according to its options documentation. | Not established in the cited documentation. |
| Urlbox | Full-page and element capture; documents scrolling behavior for lazy-loaded content and a control for infinite-scroll pages, in its screenshots documentation. | Not established in the cited documentation. |
| Browserless | REST screenshot endpoint with PNG, JPEG, or WebP responses and Puppeteer-style options, including full-page and selector capture, in its Screenshot API documentation. | Not established in the cited documentation. |
| shot-scraper | Software tool with browser and capture controls documented in its documentation. | WebKit is listed as a browser choice. This does not establish use of Apple’s Safari application or provide a managed hosted API. |
When WebKit is the priority: investigate shot-scraper
shot-scraper is the documented route in these sources for selecting a WebKit engine. It is software rather than evidence of a hosted screenshot API, and the documentation listing WebKit does not prove that captures use Apple’s Safari binary. Confirm the runtime in your environment and compare output against the Safari version and pages that matter to your project.
For a hosted service, choose only after the provider confirms its engine and version. Validate page rendering yourself rather than treating general screenshot features as evidence of Safari fidelity.

How to evaluate a hosted screenshot service
- Confirm the engine and version. Ask whether captures run in Safari, WebKit, or another browser. Request the exact runtime version and whether it can change.
- Check capture shape. Determine whether you need a viewport capture, full-page image, or a selected element, and confirm the available dimensions and device-scale controls.
- Test readiness behavior. Try pages with lazy-loaded images, animation, delayed content, or infinite scrolling. Check whether the service can wait for a selector, a delay, or network activity, and whether scrolling triggers content loading.
- Verify output and access requirements. Confirm formats, sizing, and support for the authentication or request context your pages require.
- Test automation defenses and failures. Use representative target pages, including sites that may block automated access. Ask how the service reports failed loads, bot checks, and timeouts; the cited provider pages are not sufficient to compare those behaviors or service limits.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a hosted website screenshot API and MCP server. Its available product facts do not establish Safari or WebKit rendering, so it is not a substitute when Safari-engine fidelity is mandatory. If your requirement is a screenshot API without that constraint, its one-request example is:
