To reduce Versionista alerts caused by irrelevant dynamic content, add a page-area exclusion for the changing region, such as a sidebar. If you use instant-alert emails, choose filtered changes in Account Settings so the email applies your configured filters. Versionista documents filters for selected page areas; it does not claim to automatically recognize every kind of dynamic content.
Exclude the changing page area
- In Versionista, open the filter configuration for the monitored site or page.
- Identify the recurring area that changes but is not relevant to your monitoring. Versionista’s example is a frequently changing sidebar.
- Add an exclusion for that area. Use an exclusion when you want to ignore a region; use an inclusion filter if you instead want to limit monitoring to selected areas. Versionista describes these as page-area filters, not automatic detection of all dynamic content. See Versionista’s guide to monitoring specific word changes.
- After saving, inspect an actual captured comparison in your account to confirm the region is being treated as intended before relying on the filter operationally. Interface labels can change.
Apply filters to instant-alert emails
Instant alerts are enabled per page and are off by default, according to Versionista’s email-alert guide. If you use instant alerts, open Account Settings and select the filtered-changes option for instant-alert email content. The guide also lists text changes and text-and-HTML changes as content choices. Filtered changes applies configured filters to the alert body; it does not replace configuring which page areas should be monitored.
Choose between area filters and focus phrases

Versionista’s guide says to enter one focus word or phrase per line. Matching is case-insensitive, and focus phrases are documented for HTML and plain-text pages. Page-area inclusions and exclusions are applied before focus phrases are checked. Use focus phrases to filter by textual significance, not as a substitute for excluding a noisy visual region.
Versionista account availability
Versionista’s homepage says new monitoring accounts are available through Fluxguard, which it describes as its next-generation platform. The same page says existing Versionista accounts remain supported and do not need to change. If you are setting up monitoring for the first time, follow the current signup route; if you already have an account, use its Versionista filters. See Versionista’s homepage.
