What is confirmed about a RuneScape 4 reveal?
Jagex’s 25th-anniversary announcement describes plans for the RuneScape franchise, but its surfaced text does not identify a RuneScape 4 reveal. The publisher’s news index lists RuneScape and Old School RuneScape updates; the available index text likewise contains no announcement of RuneScape 4.
This is a limited finding, not proof of a universal negative. The material reviewed does not establish that Jagex has never announced or discussed a new game, and an announcement on an official channel not surfaced in that material remains unresolved. The accurate conclusion is that an official reveal is unverified by these sources.

Where did the RuneScape 4 claim come from?
A creator video titled “Jagex is working on Runescape 4,” published by Protoxx on October 9, 2021, discusses alleged leaked prototype footage. Its description refers to a possible prototype called “Runescape Aftermath.” Those are claims and interpretations in a creator’s video description; the reviewed material does not confirm that the name is official, that the footage is authentic, or that it relates to a released game. The video is not a Jagex announcement.

A February 2021 MCV interview result also surfaced with a time-bound statement attributed to a Jagex representative that there was no new RuneScape game announcement to make “today.” The available snippet does not establish the speaker’s name or role, and that statement cannot establish Jagex’s present plans.

- Check the publisher: Look for a dated announcement on Jagex’s official news site or game channels. A creator’s video or a description of alleged leaked footage is not equivalent confirmation.
- Check what is actually claimed: A confirmed announcement should identify the game or project as Jagex does, rather than infer its title or status from prototype footage.
- Check the date: The 2021 video records what its creator said at that time. It does not establish a current announcement or current development plans.
Jagex’s official merchandise page lists licensed apparel and collectibles, but merchandise is unrelated to whether RuneScape 4 has been revealed.
