If Streamlabs Mobile keeps disconnecting from YouTube, first check whether YouTube is receiving the broadcast at all. A stream that reaches YouTube and drops points toward network quality; an app timer that keeps running while YouTube shows nothing may match a separate Streamlabs false-live issue. Check the symptom, then work through the relevant fixes below.

First determine what is disconnecting

Open the YouTube watch page or YouTube Studio and compare its status with Streamlabs Mobile. Note whether viewers lose a stream that had been live, or whether YouTube never receives it despite Streamlabs showing a timer, FPS, bitrate, and Stop control. Those are different failure modes: network troubleshooting may help the first, while the second can be related to Disconnect Protection.

  • YouTube receives the stream, then it drops or loses frames: investigate the network path and device load.
  • Streamlabs appears live, but YouTube has no broadcast: check the false-live workaround below.
  • Go-live fails for a particular YouTube event or shows an error: verify the account and event, then check for a current YouTube issue.

Test the network before changing settings

Streamlabs recommends checking latency, packet loss, and jitter with a continuous ping test when investigating network-related streaming problems. Latency is round-trip time; packet loss means sent data does not return; jitter is variation in the connection. Streamlabs’ Ping Test guide warns that even 1% packet loss can cause a stream to drop. That is a support warning about a possible effect, not a statistic about how often streams disconnect.

  1. When the failure occurs, record the local time and whether you were on Wi-Fi or cellular.
  2. If practical, test from a different location or compare Wi-Fi with cellular. Change one connection at a time so you can tell whether the symptom changes.
  3. If support asks for a continuous ping test, follow Streamlabs’ instructions and preserve the results to share with support.

The cited guidance does not set universal good latency or jitter thresholds, and there is no single network value guaranteed to prevent a disconnect. If both available connections are weak or coverage is poor, switching between them may not help.

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

Reduce avoidable phone and stream-setting load

Before streaming, close other open apps and review Streamlabs Mobile’s video settings. Streamlabs’ Mobile Live Streaming Guide identifies output resolution, frame rate, and maximum bitrate as settings to check. Available controls can vary by platform and app version; the guide does not identify one resolution or bitrate that fixes every disconnect.

  1. In Streamlabs Mobile, open Streaming Settings and review the available video controls: resolution, frame rate, and maximum bitrate.
  2. Write down the original values before changing anything.
  3. Try one adjustment at a time, then compare whether the stream still drops under similar network conditions.

Changing several settings together makes it difficult to identify the cause. A lower setting is not a guaranteed fix if the underlying issue is packet loss, an app issue, or a YouTube event problem.

If Streamlabs says live but YouTube is not receiving video

Streamlabs documents a false-live issue in which the app can show a running timer, FPS and bitrate, and a Stop control even though the broadcast is absent from the destination platform. Its notice links this behavior to Disconnect Protection failing to connect properly to Streamlabs servers. If that description matches what you see, try one of the workarounds Streamlabs lists in its false-live issue notice:

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
  1. In the app, open Main Menu → Disconnect Protection and turn Disconnect Protection off.
  2. Alternatively, enable Multistream on Streamlabs.com.

Disconnect Protection is a viewer-facing “Be Right Back” screen while the creator reconnects. It does not stabilize a weak mobile connection, and Streamlabs has documented a server-connectivity failure mode involving this feature. Use this workaround for the app-live/YouTube-not-live symptom, not as a general remedy for packet loss.

For unreliable connections while streaming on the move

Network Boost is Streamlabs’ multi-connection feature for mobile streaming reliability. Its Network Boost guide describes using a relay device to host a hotspot as one way to provide another connection.

  • The guide requires a primary iOS streaming device, an active Streamlabs Ultra or Ultra+ subscription, and more than one internet connection.
  • In the documented setup, the secondary relay device can be iOS or Android, while the primary streaming device must be iOS.
  • A hotspot is one possible source for a second connection, not a guarantee against poor carrier coverage, an outage, or problems affecting both links.

Platform and subscription requirements can change, so check the current guide before setting it up. Network Boost may help in some circumstances; Streamlabs does not present it as a guaranteed cure.

Check the YouTube account and event

A failure to start a broadcast can look like a connection problem even when the phone’s network is working. Streamlabs’ YouTube-from-phone setup guide covers creating or scheduling an event and selecting an active event. It also says livestreaming must be enabled on the YouTube account before the first attempt; account setup delays can prevent going live.

Check whether you are trying to create a new broadcast, join an active event, or start a scheduled one. If the app reports an error, note its exact text and the event type rather than treating every failed start as a dropped network connection.

Check for a current Streamlabs or YouTube event issue

Issue notices are time-sensitive. Streamlabs’ September 3, 2026 YouTube Mobile notice marked three go-live problems resolved after updates: duplicate broadcasts when creating a new broadcast, a broadcast that never actually went live, and an RTMP creation error in vertical mode. It advised users who still had problems to submit a support ticket.

A separate Streamlabs notice about scheduled YouTube streams was marked “Investigating” on September 28, 2026. It described failures to go live to scheduled streams that could produce a 403 or 500 error. Check the notice’s current status before concluding that this scheduled-event problem is still active or resolved.

When the problem persists

Use Streamlabs’ in-app Support or submit a support ticket, as its Mobile guide recommends. Include details that help distinguish a network drop from a false-live state or event failure:

  • Phone model, operating system, and Streamlabs Mobile version.
  • Whether the YouTube destination was a new, active, or scheduled event.
  • The time of the failure, your connection type, and whether the app still showed that it was live.
  • A screenshot of any Streamlabs or YouTube error.
  • Ping-test results if support requests them.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is to keep uploaded videos looping on YouTube rather than stream live from your phone camera, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo keeps the stream running from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home; it streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.

Monthly: $9.99 per month. This is for uploaded video looping to YouTube, not a camera-based mobile broadcast. Start the free day with StreamNeo.
