Choose the workflow that matches your stream

A browser studio is not automatically a 24/7 prerecorded-video loop: it is designed for a person to produce and start an attended broadcast. Conversely, a loop service is not a live camera studio. Both send a livestream to YouTube, so YouTube’s channel eligibility, copyright rules, archive limits, and stream-health considerations still apply.
Prepare your YouTube channel and connection
Enable live streaming before your planned start
Make sure live streaming is enabled on your YouTube channel and complete phone verification if requested. Restream’s YouTube setup guidance says first-time activation can take 24 hours. It also says the user connecting the YouTube channel must be its owner, not a manager or editor. Check browser and upload capacity
Restream recommends an up-to-date desktop version of Chrome. Its guidance gives 10 Mbps as a minimum upload speed and recommends 25 Mbps or higher for Full HD; it also recommends a wired connection for added stability. Start an attended broadcast in Restream Studio
- Create the stream: Sign in to Restream and create a new stream in Restream Studio. Set the YouTube broadcast title and description before going live.
- Connect the production inputs: In the browser studio, allow camera and microphone access when prompted. Choose the intended camera and microphone, then prepare your scenes, graphics, and any clips you plan to use.
- Select YouTube: In the stream’s Channels selection, choose the connected YouTube channel. Confirm that you have selected the intended destination and broadcast details.
- Check audio and picture: Speak into the microphone and confirm the correct input is active. Check that the camera or scene looks right and that overlays and clips appear as intended.
- Go live: Click Go Live in Restream Studio when you are ready to start. Keep the studio open and monitor the broadcast while it is running.
Restream says Studio automatically adjusts bitrate to the selected stream resolution. Its listed examples are 6 Mbps for 1080p30, 5 Mbps for 720p60, and 4 Mbps for 720p30; these are example Studio settings, not a promise that every browser or connection can sustain them. Restream Studio settings
Set up a continuous prerecorded loop
If the goal is to play a playlist of uploaded videos continuously rather than host a live show, use a cloud loop workflow instead of leaving a browser studio open. Gyre describes uploading video files to cloud storage, arranging them in a playlist, connecting a YouTube channel, and scheduling the stream. Those are vendor-described capabilities, not an independent service test; verify current plan limits, compatibility, and authorization details with the provider before scheduling a long broadcast. Whichever cloud service you choose, confirm the YouTube destination, playlist order, start time, and rights to every file before launch. Do a short test and inspect YouTube’s stream health rather than assuming that a successful upload means the stream will stay healthy indefinitely.
Test stream quality and monitor YouTube health
For an external encoder or relay that exposes video settings, YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate, and a 2-second keyframe interval; the keyframe interval should not exceed 4 seconds. Before a real event or a long-running loop, test with representative motion and audio, then check YouTube’s stream health during the broadcast. A static test image will not reveal every issue that appears with movement, scene changes, or music. YouTube’s guidance is for configuring an encoder; a browser studio or cloud loop service may manage some settings for you, so check which controls it exposes.
Understand YouTube replay and rights limits
A 24/7 stream may not become a complete replay
YouTube Help states: “If your live stream is less than 12 hours long, YouTube can automatically archive it for you.” YouTube also warns that a stream over 12 hours “may not be captured at all.” DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. These are qualified platform behaviors, not a guarantee that every shorter stream will archive or every longer one will be lost. Repeated playback does not bypass copyright or policy rules
Use only content you have the rights to stream. YouTube identifies copyright matches and other policy issues as grounds for disabling live streaming. A cloud relay or repeated playlist does not make material permissible if you lack the necessary rights. YouTube copyright guidance for live streams

- YouTube is missing or authorization fails: Confirm live streaming is enabled, any requested phone verification is complete, and the connecting account is the channel owner. For a first-time activation, allow the 24-hour window cited by Restream.
- Video freezes, drops, or looks unstable: Check upload capacity, reduce competing network traffic, update Chrome, and use Ethernet where practical. Compare your available upload speed with Restream’s recommendations, especially for Full HD.
- Audio is silent or comes from the wrong device: Recheck browser microphone permissions and the selected input in Studio. Make a short test with speech and any other audio source you plan to use.
- Encoder stream health reports a problem: Review YouTube’s encoder guidance for RTMPS, constant bitrate, and a 2-second keyframe interval (no more than 4 seconds), then test again with representative motion and audio.
- The archive is incomplete or absent: A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR may be limited. Keep an independent recording or split sessions if preserving the full program is essential.
- A prerecorded stream is interrupted: Check the cloud provider’s current connection, scheduling, and recovery behavior rather than assuming every service handles disconnections the same way. YouTube policy or copyright restrictions may also stop a broadcast.
